moving to Oslo in next few months, advice needed

Hei!

Id just like to introduce myself and explain a little about my situation. I currently live in the UK with my girlfriend Line who is an American-Norwegian. Our plan is to move to Oslo as soon as possible, the main reason for this being Lines mother is seriously ill and she wants to be closer to her to be able to take care of her and help her father. For Line, it shouldnt be a problem to find a job and intergrate, as she has lived and worked in Norway before. However, I have lived in the UK all my 26 years, and dont yet even have a basic grasp of the language. Im also very worried about finding work and just fitting in in general. Unfortunately, we dont have the luxury of time. My girlfriend intends to move over before me which will enable her to sort out a job while living with her parents. Then we will look into finding a place of our own and me a job. I dont mind the prospect of living and working in Norway as we have discussed this many times before. On the contrary, I welcome the opportunity with open arms. Nor do I mind being thrown in at the deep end. I just have no idea what type of job I will realistically be able to do with a limited understanding of the language. Currently I work as an audio-visual technician in the Media Resources department at a University in Buckinghamshire, so my background is mainly in film production. I also have a degree in Graphic Design, and a passion for animation which I have basically been teaching myself in my spare time. This is what I am aiming to do in the long term, anyway. For the short-term I am prepared to do whatever it takes to be with my girlfriend as I cant stand the thought of us being apart for an extended period of time. So sorry this is such a lengthy post, but - for whoever does take the time to read through to the end thank you for your time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tusen takk,

Leo
