Norway vs. USA

15 years ago

I moved to the US in the late 80's and been here ever since. I have lived in So. Calif., Washington and Arizona. I met a lady from Norway three years ago, turned out to be the biggest mistake of my life. I used to think maybe SoCal girls were goldiggers and opportunists, turns out they are amateurs (but that is another story.)
I left my wellpaid job in the US and got a wellpaid job in Norway. After having lived there for 4 months I had to return to the US for a important matter for a few months. Now that I am back in the US and having gotten a taste of my native country again, I am left with a bitter taste in my mouth. Everything in Norway is 4 times the cost of the US, taxes are double of that of the US, medical care is subpar to the US, the people in Norway are rude, selfish, fake, shallow and just plain ignorant. These people badmouth the US in the worst way(without ever having visited the US even) and are full of solutions on how to fix things in the US. Norwegians are full of opinions and Norway of course is the best country in the world to live in, (they believe in their ignorant state). The truth of the matter is, and this comes from a person who has lived both places 20 years in each, is that Norway is one of the the most expensive countries in the world to live in, why? I have no idea, it sits on a rock on the north pole almost!
I can only say that I am not proud of my heritage and I am certainly not proud of my fellow citizens there. Conclusion: If you can avoid living there, AVOID IT!
