What do I need to know before moving to Ghana?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Ghana, they said:

"Before moving to Ghana, expats should familiarize themselves with the local language, Twi, as it is the most widely spoken language in the country. Expats should also research the cost of living in Ghana, as prices can vary significantly depending on the area. Additionally, expats should be aware of the cultural norms and customs of Ghana, such as the importance of respect for elders and the traditional greeting of shaking hands. It is also important to be aware of the political climate in Ghana, as it can affect the safety and security of expats. Finally, expats should research the healthcare system in Ghana and consider purchasing health insurance to cover any medical expenses," said one expat in Ghana.
