What do I need to know before moving to Bangkok?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Bangkok, they said:

"Before moving to Bangkok, expats should research the cost of living and the availability of housing. It is also important to familiarize oneself with the local culture and customs, as well as the language. Additionally, expats should consider the climate and the air quality in Bangkok, as well as the availability of healthcare and other services. Finally, expats should research the visa requirements for entering and staying in Thailand," explained one expat living in Bangkok, Thailand.

"If you are about to relocate to Bangkok, try to stay close to the skytrain or subway route; silom, sukhumvit or lansuan area are nice. To find home, you can start your own search at www.roommillion.com and send the enquiry to them," said one expat in Bangkok.
