What do I need to know before moving to Calgary?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Calgary, they said:

"Calgary is a vibrant city with a lot to offer expats. It is important to research the cost of living in Calgary before moving, as it is higher than many other Canadian cities. It is also important to be aware of the weather in Calgary, as it can be quite cold in the winter months. Expats should also research the job market in Calgary, as it is a competitive market. Additionally, it is important to familiarize yourself with the local culture and customs, as well as the language, as English is the primary language spoken in Calgary. Finally, it is important to research the healthcare system in Calgary, as it is different from other countries," remarked one expat who made the move to Calgary.

"Do your homework! Calgary is a beautiful city, close to the mountains. Anything you could want you can find here. There aren't really very many high crime areas here, just driving through a neighborhood will give you a feel if you want to live there," explained one expat living in Calgary, Canada.
