Jaco Beach, Costa Rica

What should newcomers know about renting in Playa Jaco?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats in Playa Jaco what newcomers should know about renting in Playa Jaco, they advised...

"The advice I would give is to shop around as the área and availability is very diversified. It helps to have something specific in mind so you are not reviewing rentals that do not meet your criteria. Be realistic in your needs and wishes. If oceanfront is a must, expect to pay the highest rents. If you can accept being one block from the beach, you will have a greater variety to choose from in many price ranges. Jaco Beach is walkable with many taxis. You do not need a car to enjoy the área! Keeping in mind that you can rely on public and taxi transportation, your monthly budget for a rental car can be eliminated and used towards a rental unit," remarked another expat who made the move to Playa Jaco (Jaco Beach), Costa Rica.

"When renting a home in Playa Jaco, it is important to research the area thoroughly and make sure the property is in a safe and secure location. It is also important to read the rental agreement carefully and make sure you understand all the terms and conditions before signing. Additionally, it is a good idea to ask the landlord or property manager for references from previous tenants and to check the local laws and regulations regarding rental properties. Finally, it is important to make sure the property is properly insured and that you have the necessary documents to prove your rental agreement," explained one expat living in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica.
