"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Barbados is the cost of living. The cost of housing, food, and other necessities can be quite high, making it difficult to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. Additionally, the cost of healthcare can be expensive, and the availability of medical services may be limited. Furthermore, the language barrier can be a challenge, as English is the official language, but many locals speak a dialect of English called Bajan. Finally, the climate can be a challenge for some, as the island is hot and humid year-round," remarked another expat in Barbados.
