If you are thinking about moving to Luxembourg, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing...

"The cost of housing in Luxembourg is generally high. Average rents have been steadily increasing in recent years and currently sit at above the EU average. Prices vary depending on the size and location of the property, with an average cost of up to €1200 for a one-bedroom flat in the city centre, and up to €2000 for a three-bedroom flat," remarked another expat in Luxembourg.

"Our rental is higher than our mortgage. The euro is about 1.5 times the dollar. The average similiar sized home rents for between 3500 and 4200 euro per month. We get paid in US dollars with a subsidy to equalize the cost of living here. Our home is rented in the US, so we contribute to our rent payment here. Then get an adjustment to cover the increased cost of fuel, electricity, food etc," said a member in Bertrange, Luxembourg.
