Ms. Burlingame launched ExpatExchange.com in 1997 as her Master's thesis project at NYU's Gallatin School where she combined studies at Tisch's Interactive Telecommunications Program and Stern Business School. After graduating in 1998, she secured angel funding for ExpatExchange.com. Burlingame and Wood spent the last several years growing the service into the market leader in online support for international transferees and expatriates.

Prior to ExpatExchange.com, Betsy worked at AT&T in International and Mass Market Marketing. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in International Business and German.

Joshua Wood

Mr. Wood joined ExpatExchange.com in October 2000. His areas of responsibility include creative aspects of the community, research, sales and business development.

Prior to his current position, Joshua worked for NBC Cable (MSNBC and CNBC Primetime). While working for NBC, he researched opportunities for MSNBC to expand its cable audience via the Internet, provided assessments of network and program performance and tracked major news events. Before joining NBC, Joshua worked in freelance production for MTV.

Joshua first worked on the Internet in 1997 for StorageTek's Customer Resource Center, an online community that provides clients with support. His previous positions provided him with experience in public relations, advertising and creative services. In addition to ExpatExchange.com, Mr. Wood is also a licensed counselor and psychotherapist at the Cambridge Professional Center in Morristown, NJ. Previously, he also worked at the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program at Morristown Memorial Hospital and at Daytop, a residential substance abuse facility.

Joshua received his Master's Degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in English Textual Studies.
