Introduction

Hello forum! My name is Frank, my wife is Shelley. We're both 59 years old, I'm retired with about 3k per month income. She's still a working clinic nurse. We've got a grip of equity in our home (about 175,000) a lot for us anyway, and a little savings. We really have no other bills and after our daughter moved her business and family from CA to TN we all of a sudden found ourselves with new options and ideas lol. We've both been to the DR via cruise ship before, but after watching more youtube videos and looking into the laws for retirees, we're coming over for a better look this November. It sounds like we could acquire retiree visa's with my retirement income alone, and that from everything we've read and seen, could live quite comfortably on those dollars, officially retiring Shelley in the process. So we're looking at each other a couple of days ago, while it's 105 outside, fires are raging everywhere again, the smoke is choking us out for the 10th year in a row, and wondering what in the hell is keeping us pinned here. I hope we can connect with a few expats in the area before our November trip. Would love to hear some of your stories, where you live, why you choose the area, trusted attorneys, realtors, property managers? That's a lot more than I intended for an intro so I'll quit now.
