Hello everyone.

I've been to CR about 6 times over the past 10 years. My parents own a home near Jaco. My wife and I are looking to make the move (atleast part time) by January 2020.

Our intentions.

We'd like to start with a condo near Jaco, and set up home base. This is where we know. Not just the area, but we have many tico friends in the area. We plan to drive around every where checking out what the rest of the country has to offer. We have done day trips to places like manual antonio and puntarenas in the past, but have not been able to truly experience what the rest of the country has to offer. We may end up sticking to the Jaco area, we may not.

Our biggest concern moving to CR is the schooling. We have a 2 year old, with another on the way.

We are not sure if we will make the move full time right away, and my concern is if schools will allow students to attend for half a school year?

can non-resident children attend public schools?

We would probably transition our children into a private school, but I like the idea of having them start the early years in a public school.

also, I know this is off topic.... I've just read that "Inversionista Visa" requirments have changed. specifically that purchsasing a home valued over $200,000 USD is considered an investment under the qualifications, and can be granted a "Inversionista Visa"

Can't seem to confirm this.

all the help is appreciated!
Thank You
