Kiel - Hamburg - Flensburg

I'm moving family (2 yr old & 5 yr old) to Germany to work on project in Flensburg. I can locate in Hamburg for international school and drive 160 KM to work or I can look at Kiel or Flensburg as locations. Is there anybody out there who can discuss their ex-pat experience in either Kiel or Flensburg? Is it better to locate in Hamburg to have ex-pat school and community for my spouse?
