Buying a home in Japan

What barriers exist for an Australian citizen to buy a property in Japan and move there?

I have had myself sterilized. Does that work in my favor?

I made an offer to my Australian partner to come live with me in a 4-bedroom home in Wakayama with our 2 children, 6 and 3 years old. How would the Japanese view such a chain migration?
I have no other family. My partner's family members have no interest in leaving Australia.

I would like my children to attend a school with Japanese children, rather than an expat school.
Is that possible?

I have some university education, but did not complete my studies in that field.
I do have a Certification in Illustration and a Diploma in IT.

I am currently working on my own online businesses, and I find the fast Internet speeds in Wakayama very attractive.
