I have a question. I have been in the Philippines for about nineteen months. I live entirely on my S.S. retirement. Last year I had half a years income from my former employer , plus some S.S. income . So I filed only on my former employment income . When I went to the internet to find a way to file I chose turbo Tax. I read one testemonial from a man living in the Philippines that said , he files fed income tax , every year on his S.S. income , to keep his U.S citizenship. Is this true and what form do you use as all S.S gives you is a form similar to form 1099.
