Hello,
My name is Brennan. Me and My fiancee have been thinking about moving to the Philippines for awhile now from Los Angeles but we are looking for some advice before we commit to anything. My fiancee is a Philippine citizen but she has actually never been to the country. She does have family but does not speak the language or have any insight. I can get a work visa there because of her status and would love to continue working in Film, TV and Music Video Production, my girlfriend works in music and hosts a youtube channel. I have already spoken with some companies about work and will meet with some when we go on vacation there in July. That being said I am still worried about the cost of living. We have a 6 year old son who would be enrolled in international school and it is difficult to understand the cost of that from their website. Additionally I have heard of people hiring drivers, nanny and maids which seems like a whole lot of expenses to add. Are these sorts of thing necessary if you have a kid? Also is it a problem if I drive myself? Because I enjoy driving. We would be looking to move to Makati or Quezon City because that seems to be where most media buildings would be located but again I'm not sure. If anyone knows what a 3 or 4 bedroom would cost in these areas it would be very helpful. Also because instead of hiring other people we might have some of her family live with us. I have heard some Condo's in these areas can be had at a very reasonable price but I haven't seen specific numbers. Also if anyone knows much about the film world here and can give any insight on Directing and Producing companies that would be great. I have worked for some very high end film folks in the US. Thanks
