Used Car Shopping??

Will be arriving in October from States. Had thought I'd pass on buying a car and take advantage of public transportation. Looking to live in either Tagaytay or Baguio, possibly Subic/Freeport area. Any advice where to look for a Used Car?? GF has established credit. I just want something inexpensive and practical, A Suzuki maybe?? What do you figure I will have to spend??? My gut says just for numbers sake Manila??? Thank you for your input.
