mattinnorfolk Seems the Forum is being dominated by a few who want to turn it into a Trump campaign rally instead of being a forum for Expats living in the Philippines. Nice thing about living here is, at least for me, is I can get away from this civil war created by the GOP which was once a relevant party.

With a approval rating of 35% among the black community your party is in trouble. People are waking up and seeing the pandering and don't like it. Just one post on this topic:

Statistics from WHO, UNICEF, the Global Competitiveness Report, and the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME)

The GCR in fact said "The U.S. had an extraordinarily big number of very low rankings"

Here’s where we stand compared to the rest of the world:

#10 most dangerous country for women

#27 in overall education (down from #17 in 2017)

#27 in human capital (level of education and health in a population — in 1990 the US was #6)

#12 in university degrees

#38 in quality of primary education

#38 in quality of math education

#24 in quality of science education

#125 in overall literacy

#47 in overall healthcare (down from #44 in 2017)

LAST in healthcare “efficiency, equity and outcomes”

#64 in life expectancy (down from #43 in 2017)

#34 healthiest country — includes life expectancy, causes of death, and health risks (high blood pressure, tobacco use, malnutrition, availability of clean water, etc.)

WORST rate of maternal death in the developed world

#26 in infant mortality rates

#47 in infant survival

#26 in child well-being

#25 in child poverty

#14 in per capita murders

#7 in quality of life

#80 in soundness of banks

#14 in availability of latest technology

#24 in internet access in schools

#19 in national satisfaction

#67 in slavery (yes that’s TODAY)

#30 in reliability of police services

#7 in broadband internet availability (S. Korea and Estonia rank higher)

#33 in internet speed (even Romania ranks higher)

#23 in gender equality

#46 in freedom of the press (this was before trump — we’ll drop like a stone now)

#23 in housing

#24 in literacy

#17 in happiness

#8 in quality of older adult life

#99 in peacefulness

#24 in freedom from corruption (again this was before trump)

#9 in retirement security

#10 in economic freedom

#23 in wage distribution

#11 in minimum wage

#25 in GDP per capita

#7 in homicides

#12 in prosperity

#25 in overall infrastructure

#33 in quality of electricity supply

#99 in mobile telephone subscriptions

#20 in quality of roads

But take heart! We do rank #1 or #2 in these things:

#1 in percentage of population in prison

#1 in teen pregnancies

#1 in CO2 emissions

#1 in gun deaths

#1 in drug overdose deaths

#1 in healthcare costs

#1 in small arms imports

#1 in rape

#1 in divorces

#1 heart attacks

#1 in total crimes

#1 in rate of income inequality in the developed world

#1 most unequal developed nation (as of 2019)

#2 in child poverty

#2 in general ignorance

Morgacj2004 Shut your lies about me up. I was born in Henrotin Hospital in Chicago in 1944. Lived in Miami, Anna Maria Island, Bradenton and Key West Florida. Graduated from Roosevelt University at Congress and Michigan Ave. Was never drafted. Too many African Americans in my neighbourhood they wanted sent to the front lines. Moved West to get away from my allergy to ragweed. Visited Vancouver and landed a great job. Visit Vancouver and you will understand. Quit making Horse Feathers up unless you’re too full of them to stop. Now you actually know some facts. Trump is the draft dodger.

acol Oh Yeah, you bet I’m American, and when I lived in Canada, Canuck’s were rude about it, and never let me forget it. Made jokes about 9/11. Made me furious and ready to slug it out with a few. At a fitness centre in Vancouver they cheered when the TV showed the planes strike the twin towers. I flew the American Flag from the porch of my house just to piss off some of my neighbours who ridiculed America. I am a naturalised Canadian, and there are many things I admire about Canada besides its unspoiled natural beauty. Canadians are polite, and Canadians will always help you out if you’re in a jam. Did the other Canadian on this blog ever engage in a personal attack ? No, absolutely not. Just a couple Americans preoccupied with posting about America break that part of the members agreement. The majority of Americans, some of whom disagree with my posts, that are primarily factual, are respectful and we get along. The few who aren’t should stay in America where they belong.

"Bush was 'just' in the reserves"...I served 27 years just in the reserves and twelve were on active duty. The reserve component represents 50% of Americas total force. These are the guys who work real jobs everyday then show up for the war. I rose from Private to Major just in the reserves and met the very same standards physically and educationally that every regular Army officer had to meet.

Gos- Being Canadian , I consider our American friends to be just that ' natural friends of deep history together'
Laughing at the 9/11 attacks ? wow that is ignorant for people to do that ... they would be laughing at the 'free world ' getting attacked . Problem is In BC we have many many "Canadians' that originate in Arab counties ....they spread their hate for the west among Canadians . Canadians tend to follow the pack - very much pack animals ... they have a hard time thinking for themselves in general .
Its just So So bizarre to see people cheering when seeing our American brothers in trouble . where do we get these people in Canada ? just So wrong on many levels .

It would be like cheering when China takes another island from the Filipinos ( inevitable - Just when ) .... just wrong so many levels . The west still considers the Philippines 'part of the family ' I think .... with most people.

Vancouver has changed huh ? Quite toxic now with the waves of immigrants from overseas . We just had a HUGE 'PRO CHINA ' and anti USA , demonstration downtown .... tells you what happened to us . We are still a natural beauty for a city . But , how the culture has changed and the people who inhabit BC now . Arabic in North Vanc. and Mandarin in the core is common language . surfingcebu It wasn’t limited to the one fitness centre in Vancouver, but was directed at me at social events where people laughed at me and said Americans had it coming to them. Overall, most Canadians were appalled, yet know that since the FLQ crisis, most Canadians believe that sort of thing couldn’t happen in Canada. However there was the attack on Stephen Harper at the Parliament Building stopped by the marksmanship of the Sargent at Arms. Yet, during the time of the War Measures Act and the FLQ crisis, American Military was massed at the border in preparation for an invasion of Quebec and only backed off after Canadian Military took prisoner all American Military at the NORAD installations and threatened to shut down the NORAD air defences of the US by cutting cables, an historical fact kept well hidden that I recently discovered. surfingcebu It was great in 1968 when I started working there. I lived in Kits. Then Hong Kong was given to the PRC, and the invasion began. Richmond became a Chinese city and Chinese billionaires bought downtown Vancouver. Some the Indigenous British Columbians I worked with were quite racist against Chinese, but my Melville Street down town office was full of them. Anna Maria was a summer training camp for the Red Socks. Many had homes there.

Gos - you have had an interesting life . I cant wait to continue our talks over a pint in Davao ....SO looking forward to that ! ..... You may find parts of my life interesting too .
Yes , I know some of the 'natives' are quite race focused .

BTW I spent many hours jogging around Key West - just loved that . I did push ups at the High school there in the field - cant remember the name of it . People were nice to me there . Loved it . ....I would always job past Hemingway's place, too . I read some of his journals he would keep for himself , about fishing off the keys that did not get published - so cool!
Took my scooter often to the marked at that beach that said something like " 90 miles to Havana" or something like that . There I would walk alone ... saying hi to people from all over the world ... and watching the sun set , regularly . I volunteered there , and handed out meals to transients . Some of those transients were sure interesting people . Some former millionaire stock brokers and the like !

surfingcebu That would be Key West High. I went there for a while, lived on the docks on Sigsby Bay. on my Step Fathers 48 ft. Fishing boat. That was when they made the movie Operation Petticoat with Cary Grant who came to our school play. During the Cuban Revolution, there was big time gun running there to Castro since the US wasted Mafia controlled Batista out until Castro nationalised US industry. They allowed two surplus WWII fighter planes fully equipped but without ordinance to land at the Bocca Chica Naval Air Base, but then they were fire bombed. The Johnson Wax Company’s 65 foot ocean going Chris Craft Cruiser was overloaded, running their water line about a yard under the surface at night full of tough looking Cubans. When asked what they were loaded with and where they were going, they said to Dry Tortuga, an abandoned island prison camp just off shore of Cuba; where they were dropping outboard motors? LOL. We fished the Gulf Stream for Sailfish. The Gulf Stream is deep purple colour where the Florida Straits are green water. Hemingway had a house on a platform about a mile South of the Navy docks. When a fleet of Shrimp Boats and a fleet of Naval Vessels made port there, there was about 15 men to every woman. My brother and I acted as bodyguards for our mom. The Shore Patrol loaded fallen drunk sailors like sacks of beans on their trucks. We played a few tricks on those staggering back to base with using dead fish on a drive by on my Cushman Eagle scooter . We had no parental supervision since we lived in boat. You know Justin Trudeau’s biological father was Fidel Castro. That’s why he’s a nut job.

Nobody in either party, and certainly no liberal progressive wants "free sh#t for everybody." Where on earth did he/she get that idea?

Who is " running around with masks on throwing concrete and beating innocent people in the streets?" If you mean the people identifying themselves as anti-fascists; then what is your problem with that? If I were at an event and verbally abused by right wing white supremacists I probably would find responses more effective than throwing concrete.

When attacked either physically or verbally; I respond with equal venom in the most effective manner possible at the time and place.

Clinton had an Oxford Rhodes Scholarship, which was a legitimate deferment. The fact that Obama never served makes him a typical American because less than 25% of Americans serve in the military. The difference is that Obama never was of a draft age during any draft year and had no reason to either join or avoid military service.

Have you taken the role of “unofficial” monitor to negatively scan anything I post on the forum. You have very little else to contribute. You live in the US. Many have commented that this topic is inappropriate as it isn’t about “Expats living in the Philippines”. You are primarily using the forum to carry out a vendetta against me. Approximately 7% of Adult Americans have served in the military. It does bother me that the rich cats have usually found a way to avoid service. Always have.

I don't even recognize our country anymore. It's perfectly acceptable for boys to kiss boys. No reason to work hard for money because when you get some the government will take it and give it to somebody else, even a criminal who isn't even a citizen. Democrats maintain race division through language, constantly using the terms white, black, "persons of color". No one can just be a person anymore.

I love my country but I don't love what it's becoming which is another reason I'm so happy to have discovered the Philippines. It's not perfect either but at least there aren't liberal nut jobs in everybody's face all the time.

How about last week when the Elizabeth Warren supporter shot up the Dayton crowd or when that Commie from New England, Bernie, had one of his supporters shoot and almost kill Republican Congressman Scalise. The killer's name was Hodgkinson or close to that. Then, of course, there was the leftie lunatic who shot congresswoman Giffords a couple of years ago and his fellow lefties tried to pin it on Mrs. Palin. Then your masked cowards, called Antifa, batter people without fear as they pick cities like Portland which has a pussy mayor who won't allow his police department to face them.
Those are your people, not mine.

LovePhilly - "...... Philippines. It's not perfect either but at least there aren't liberal nut jobs in everybody's face all the time." Amen - and let's hope it stays that way. Regarding "Race" in the USA - I like what Michael Jackson said in a song "I don't want to live my life being a color!" Yes - I am NOT a color. I am a Human Being. I am an American. I enjoy my various ethnicities - of which I have no control, being that I was born the way I am. But the reality is I am just another person, who speaks English, has B-Pos blood, breathes Oxygen. My B-Pos blood can save the life of anyone else who has that type of blood. It does not care what Country that person is from nor his/her ethnicity. I work long and hard, pay my taxes, and try to be as kind and helpful to my Fellow Human Being as possible. I don't care what Ethnicity they are nor from which Country they are from. My philosophy is: "If God made you, who am I to criticize? We are both here and we must be our Brother's and Sister's keeper." I wish more people had this personal outlook, instead of trying to take advantage of each other, hurting each other, etc.

redlandchuckII. Hmm Liberals in the Philippines are the political party of corruption that Duterte won a landslide victory against. That makes sense. Liberals in Canada are the next big looser party in Canada too. What brought America out of the Great Depression? The NEW DEAL. Democrats and socialism which jump started the economy. Socialism works well in Western European countries which have a far better standard of living than America. Even works good in Canada. Liberal translates to fair to all whereas the radical right is fair to the 1%. That only works in America. Certainly not in the Philippines.

The socialist experiment has failed in Europe sadly. No balance in robustly economic thought.
The average Italian or Greek doesn’t even pay tax to the country. France cooks the books to pay less to the EU . Trouble again. I won’t even mention Turkey.

Sweden and Denmark- to name a few are free market economies now , leaving their socialist roots behind a decade plus ago , out of necessity , or face bankruptcy.

Sure social service are far greater in Europe .... for now ... all on borrowed money. It’s coming to an and very soon . Implosion!!!!

surfingcebu The Netherlands is doing well under socialism. Highest standard of living and socialism abounds. In the Netherlands, the average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita is USD 29 333 a year, However the top 20% of the population earn more than four times as much as the bottom 20%.. That still beats the 1% over the 99% in the US.
In terms of health, life expectancy at birth in the Netherlands is 82 years, They have a 4 day work week with generous paid holidays.
Yet the Netherlands is one of the two top worst countries for housing inequality in Europe
In Norway, the average household net-adjusted disposable income per capita is USD 35 725 a year, higher than the OECD average of USD 33 604 a year. There is a considerable gap between the richest and poorest – the top 20% of the population earn four times as much as the bottom 20%.. They have 5.1 million people and all that North Sea oil. They have free post secondary education with living and book allowances, much like the Philippines. In terms of health, life expectancy at birth in Norway is 83 years, There are 3,909 homeless people in 2016. In Australia there are 116,427 people homeless as of August 2016. It is estimated that more than 235,000 Canadians experience homelessness in a year, with more than 35,000 Canadians homeless on any given night. More than 553,700 people were homeless on a single night across the US. More than 40 million people were living in poverty, and 18.5 million were living in deep poverty, with reported family income below one-half of the poverty threshold. In 2015, the poverty threshold for a single person under 65 was an annual income of US$11,770 Richest country in the world? LOL! Maybe the radical right likes it that way. The Great Depression was from 1929 to 1939 and ended two and a half years before the US entered WW2. The New Deal was a series of programs, public work projects, financial reforms, and regulations enacted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the United States between 1933 and 1936. It responded to needs for relief, reform, and recovery from the Great Depression. Check your facts first, or are you suffering from Dunning Kruger Syndrome?

Seems like they should be on the faculty of YALE or HARVARD or PRINCETON.

Robertdav298 Cornel Radical Right! I think you mostly live in the US and are in the Philippines when you are deployed here. You have made valuable contributions in the past, but you’re too much off topic with your vendetta against me. You’re back in the US now, I am wasting my time responding to your provocations and lies. My participation is information about the Philippines. Stick you vendetta in that place where the sun doesn’t shine. My last reply. Suck it up. I delete radical right wing fools.

As usual the poster is getting his facts from online data which we all know can be skewed by the people inputing the data.......just like the present polls in the US.

However, regarding this post about NORWAY, SWEDEN and NETHERLANDS.
I was in each of these three countries within the last four months and I can tell you first hand the people that I spoke to are hurting, they complained about wages, cost of living and health care. But the biggest complaint was about immigration....sound familiar. These people are unhappy because the immgrants get free bebfits from the government whereas the working person has to pay for the exact benefits.

So my takeaway from this is to be weary of the information that comes from the internet and the underlying message of the poster.

Love Philly......you spoke about racism, as of now thats all the left has to hold onto, have you noticed everything is about race....sad.
Now the latest news from the left is "recession" why because they want TRUMP and his economy to fail, they even cite all the signs that signal recession. Hell we even had one talk show host publically say that he hoped we had a recession because its the only way we could beat trump. My gosh.....what an idiot.
I have a friend in the US Special forces that has told me that they are expecting a revolution because the left has gone so far left......example look what happened in NY to the police while DIBLASIO did nothing.
This sort of thing sends a message that law enforcement is not respected while being assaulted by the same people they are trying to protect.

Trump is being critized by the left for his HARDLINE on CHINA and his tariff plan.
CHINA is an economic bully, devaluing their currency and have been for years that has gotten the US and countries in an ecnomic trade deficit. Finally the US has said we are not taking this any longer and want a level playing field.
Critics are quick to say how this hardline will hurt the US and its these same critics that filled their pockets with cash by investing in Chinese companies that can longer compete with the US.
I hope that TRUMP does not give in and brings China to their knees and the trade deficit swings in our direction.

I also hope Trump doesn't give in to China, he's doing the right thing.

Regarding socialism, it's been tried throughout history and failed. Proponents will say it just wasn't done correctly. Fact is, it just doesn't work.

European nations have bragged for years of their "free" healthcare. The only reason they have been able to provide this so far is because they don't have to spend much on defense and that includes Canada (no offense).

America protects them and spends trillions of dollars to do it. We spend more on defense than the next ten nations combined.

Socialism works fine in a make believe world. Its sounds fair and wonderful but it ignores the human condition. Humans perform and produce when they are awarded for doing so.

All the "things" we see around us don't just exist and just meant to be equally shared. "Things" are made by hard working people who want a better life for themselves.

Gasbag, in 1939, when I was 9 years old, the unemployment rate in the USA was 20% and FDR had been president for 6 years.
He had raised taxes to 90% on some individuals, raised business taxes and started various government work projects like the WPA. I remember the WPA projects with guys in ditches, sitting around smoking and talking while being paid by those citizens who were actually working. Congress dismantled virtually all of FDR's programs save social(ist) security and cut taxes thus freeing the economy to take off. You are correct that FDR was a socialist. Like many of those types, he never had a real job in his life. He was born with a platinum spoon in his mouth and the Marx manifesto in his anal crevice.

I do believe that there is significant argument among knowledgeable people about what ended the depression. Academics still write about it and there is much disagreement. My opinion is as stated; yours differs. That's not a problem. We just make our arguments, not mere assertions, and see which is more persuasive.

FYI and some fun, Hoover was president when I was born in October of 1930. Yes, 89 this October, still lawyering all day every day and grateful to God I can still do that as I do everything I always did, just slower. That excludes my jockstrapping stuff however. No more running or tennis - swimming is all I can manage these days. But I can think, write and make decent court presentations.

Catalysis - Rush did not say that he hoped Obama would fail - he hoped Obama would fail in the implementation of his Liberal Agenda. An agenda in which he wanted to "transform America" - as explained in his books. Obama was highly influenced by the radical Saul Alinski - and he wanted to turn this country upside down culturally. This country which billions want to get into, that helped free Europe TWICE in the the 20th Century, that has provided freedom and a better life for hundreds of millions - including Obama - a country so "RACIST" that it even elected Obama TWICE - that's how "RACIST" we are - and merely goes to prove what a bunch of BS the Left spews. Are we perfect? First answer which country is perfect. We are far from perfect but we work really hard at trying to right the wrongs.

Tsmslf most presidents had a golden spoon. I went to Herbert Hoover’s cabin in West Branch, Iowa. There’s also a socialist Quaker residential school & farm there completely by the students. The teachers just teach. Hoovers’s log cabin had one 12 x 10 multi purpose room and a 8 x 6 bedroom where the bed had a drawer to pull out for his kids. There was a shed where a hired hand slept. It gets very cold there in the winter -20 c. He created the League of Nations. Well it’s been nice chatting to you, but you are rude and address me with an insulting name. surfingcebu There are just a few troublemakers on this forum who post cheap shots and snide remarks or ‘ata boy’ approvals when another of their type do. I appreciate any corrections to a factual mistake I make, and accept opposing opinions with no compulsion to post insults back. Those who bait personal attacks turn forum members off intentionally, and squelch others from participating. What ever happened to marshmallow and floppie, both Filipino’s, or Sereni the Welshman? They quit due to constant harassment by a few from ‘you know where’, the place where that’s the current ‘de rigour’ for some. Others from that domain are interesting and fun; even when they don’t agree with you, they are polite. I don’t always agree with you or you with me, but that never involves cheap shots since we respect each other’s differences. Just use your delete option like I do, and don’t feed them any response. The difference between Stupidity and Genius is that Genius knows its limits (Albert Einstein).

Morjac, Robert,DAV, and most others voice my opinion. As to the inherent lunacy of SUG, who's writing under another delusional name, I find no consistency, objectivity, or rationality. He's quite amusing to read, but not intentionally so. "I'll cite you more statistics...FDR saved us from the Great Depression..." and "...you're all picking on me and everybody knows it!" Actually, states like New York are completely fine with killing Babies / Humans once born alive - IF the original intent was abortion. Amazing. Infanticide!! Murder!! I don't care what others call it. It is death to a living, breathing Human Being. The slippery slope that we all knew we were going to. What's next? Euthanasia. Old Folks. Those born with disabilities. "Wild In The Streets". "Soylent Green". And after that - Political and Religious "Undesirables". Let’s hope that all US municipalities get their systems backed up properly for their voter registration databases. Several municipalities have their systems already taken down by Ransomwear, hacker software that’s available off the shelf. It’s not just Russians, anyone can easily make a Ransomwear attack and take entire systems down without any way to reboot. The problem with voting in the coming election is whether the federal government will fund the necessary backup systems for municipalities that are cash strapped and can’t afford it? If not this coming election will be a disaster. Will Moscow Mitch allow the funds to secure the backup systems these municipalities need? Ransomwear will otherwise kill democracy in America, because it’s cheap, it’s already happening, and more is coming.

Many already know what Ransomwear is. The hacker penetrates a database and encrypts all the data, then may or may not release it. Usually they want large sums of Bitcoin currency that can’t be tracked, but that is not a given, they may never release the data. Firewalls and other security software are vulnerable. You absolutely need secure off-line backup systems. Talk about Deep State? America is already hacked. Open borders, or Ransomwear, which is worse? Stay distracted, go figure! Geesh! Ransomwear attack & no backup? Then you’re Doomed, eh!

surfingcebu The Dem.’s are honest and won’t cheat on this coming election. If a sane Republican is nominated to lead the GOP, then let the games begin. Trump will do ANYTHING to get re-elected. He’s desperate. Square off against China in a way that doesn’t kill farmers markets which may never recover because China’s market has gone to Canada and elsewhere. Farmers with equity and equipment didn’t make enough money last year to put in their seed crop in this year. They can’t sell their equipment, No one would buy their farms. The smart ones sold everything two-three years ago. They’re underwater in debt. Their market tanked because of China’s counter tariff’s. A surgical trade tool should have been used instead of a sledge hammer for grand standing. But with Donald Flintstone, that’s what you get. China has been hacking the US for decades. Where did they get the designs for their new Mig fighter jets? Defence Department. Look at Alibiba products where there are exact copies of US patents, yet a little improved and cheaper, like my CusineArt coffee grinder. Where are markets going (?) to China where GM now produces almost everything. Want a Cadillac, made in China is all you will get. Donald Flintstone is a Psychopath/Sociopath Narcissist according to the second book about him by 35 US psychiatrists and psychologists. Just ask the head of the Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The GOP needs renewal. Otherwise they need Ransomware.

Lets see Joe's platform would be what he and the Muslim President accomplished in EIGHT YEARS......WOW, we all know what that was. I could do like you liberals do and google it and post it on the forum.
Personally most conservatives are tired of the same old rhetoric with hunt after witch, first it was Russia, then it Mueller, immigration, the tax cuts and the list goes on. Now it's recession because of his fight against the the mighty manipulator China.
Honestly, most of the left is still in mourning from 2016 they just cannot believe it and then there are those that will not even call him the President......how sick is that.
Show me another president in modern times that has accomplished what his administration has in less than four years, hell it took Obama 8 years to sell us out to IRAN, CHINA and CUBA......just to name a few.

TALLEN, thankyou for the kind words.

I don't know about you but I actually admire DT, if you think about it, here is a wealthy Billionaire in his early 70's married to an ex-model and is set financially for life. Why is GODS name would he even entertain the thought of running for president "he says because he wanted to MAGA".

Look at all the BS he had to endure, all the hatred against him, his family, his cabinet etc....! If it were me I would have told these people go f......yourself and I would have quit i.e who needs the agro......especially when you are 70.
But that is how the left operates and always have just look at some of the posts on this forum you can feel the malice and of course backed up by GOOGLE DATA which by the way supports the left......so do not believe anything that one of these lunies post straight from the internet because it is tainted.

Lastly, did you ever see OBAMA publically give praise to GOD in any of his speeches? Did he ever say "in GOD WE TRUST"? Of course not because he is MUSLIM and has ties both with that race.

tlallen- who cares about the Deutsche bank, they almost went under last month . They are operating on fumes , much like all of the Socialist EU platform . Many Banks in Europe are on the verge . Same old culprits , Greece, Turkey, and Italy . HUGE back debt taken on by EU . Silly socialists !

The Liberals/Dems are digging up non-issues with the USA President. I wonder ...do the Dems want to hold power with "free everything ?" - even the greedy know better .

Everybody is a "racist" these days - if you disagree with the Socialist narrative . Diversity Dilution .

Surf you are 100% correct. The far left liberals would have little to say if we could remove the following words from our vocabulary:

Black
White
People of color
White supremist
Nazi
Orange
xenophobe
Homophobe
Undocumented (instead of illegal)
Inhumane
Women
LGBTQRSTUV

Feel free to add to the list as I have missed a few. At any rate, this language is intended to divide us and we are bombarded constantly with it from the left. I challenge you to find any media story that doesn't include one or more of these words. As an example, they can't report that an officer shot a suspect. They must report the skin color of those involved to create division.

The strange reporting of color if one is a victim is rampant. They're not minorities reporting it but the white liberal Media machine provoking everyone towards anger, hate, and violence. They need 'useful idiots' to do what they're too cowardly to do. They want the poor, and all minorities on welfare worshiping the Democrat Party for handouts. It's obvious. Those days are dead.

I watched part of the Democratic debate on TV last night. Now seriously, all left and right/ party stuff aside.... I was embarrassed for Joe Biden. I felt bad for him as he embarrassed himself in front of thousands.

He said (paraphrasing), the answer to equality in America was to put social workers in the homes because parents don't know what to do. He said poor people hear some 4,000 less words a day than others so there needs to be a radio on during the day and a record player playing at night for the kids.

I'm not kidding. He said this. Dear lord whatever anyone's political opinion is, this poor man just can't be our President.

He spoke in great detail how with every bit of information they received they could update the algorithm to be more accurate and selective. It was absolutely fascinating and horrifying what he was describing. After awhile that Algo (Al Gore? Internet? - Joking) became intelligent enough to start building it's own data base extremely quickly - far faster than the designers could update it. It is ripping fast and gaining knowledge at an exponential rate - increasing every day. It is learning just how to target everyone on Google. Astounding. True Artificial Intelligence.

Robert - As a 9 to 13 year old I was the Lead Soprano in a Boys School Choir that went back to 1850 something. It was attached to St. Peter's Church - an Episcopal Church in the old part of Philadelphia, built in 1767. It was where George Washington and other Founding Fathers went to church. Prez Washington's "Pew" was #41 - a box that you would step up into and sit in. It had a door that closed you off - but the Rector was at one end of the church and you could see him up high over the top of the box. The bells that we would ring waaaay up in the Belfry were sister bells to the Liberty Bell. Cast in the same foundry in England and came over on the same ship. The church was only 2 blocks from Betsy Ross' house and a few blocks from Independence Hall. OK - Where am I going with this? Well, at Christmas every year we would sing Christmas Carols at the ABC Station - on the exact same stage where Dick Clark did his show. On breaks between taping our program we would run up and down on that little thing that he had that had steps going up both sides. It was cool, cuz of course, our Moms would always be watching that show - so we knew all about that little Podium. More trivia you didn't need to know - hahaha!! :-)

Robert my best guess is.... Warren will win and possibly make Bernie her VP running mate. I don't think Harris is charismatic enough to pull it off and I don't think moderate democrats will buy off on her reparations plan for black America. I think she wants to give all blacks a free down payment for a house or something. I don't thing moderates want to spend billions of dollars on something like this which is B.S. anyway. And who qualifies? I mean, what if you are 50% black. Do you qualify? What if you are 25% black? What if you can prove there is one black person in your lineage? How is this proven anyway? Submit genealogy research? Take a DNA test? The point is, we are all just Americans now, the slave think is long over.

Finally, Harris is sharper and smarter than Biden but she still isn't very sharp or very smart.

I think Warren is appealing because she looks like grandma and she sounds so sincere. Honestly, Dems just don't have a better choice here so she will win.

Then the Donald will slaughter her.

The Tarahumara People are tucked away in Northern Chihuahua, Mexico - up in the hills. They were such a non-threat, lived on land no one really wanted, and were so dirt poor, well, you get the picture. They are direct cousins to the Pima Indians of Southern Arizona and the Apaches of Central AZ. In fact, the famous Apache Leader, Cochise, is said to have sometimes hidden down with the Tarahumaras when being chased by the U.S. Cavalry. Funny thing, when I was growing up, the DEMS RULED, with EISENHOWER, KENNEDY, JOHNSON and more recently CARTER and CLINTON.

But the dems ran out of gas as the last guy drained the tank with so many promises and nothing to show for it.

I served under Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Reagan and the BUSHES. For the military we had our best years with a Republican President.

TM......Eisenhower was a back stabbing SOB, I did a research paper on him when I was in college. My research showed that Berlin was divided because of his EGO and that Russia is the power it is today because of the political decisions he made. Had he listened to Patton things could have turned out different but Eisenhower was a politician and had aspirations of running for president after the war. Eisenhower feared Patton because he was getting all the headlines during the war.
Mysteriously Patton was killed by a hit and run driver who they never found. Here is a decorated FOUR STAR WAR HERO that gets hit by a car after being in countless number of battles. Sure his death was investigated but they never found the driver.......makes you wonder....hmmm.

Reagan was good for the military, during his time as President. Our military was very strong and eager to serve. A sharp contrast of what our military was like under OBAMA who dismantled a strong military.
To bad Obama did not follow the "peace thru strength" motto.

Robert you need to update your paper. It is documented that Patton died from injuries going on a hunting trip with his Chief of Staff. The Staff Car was was in a collision with a US Army truck. In spite of the conspiracy theories that is what unfortunately happened. Citation : Farago, Ladislas (1981), The Last Days of Patton, Yardley, Pennsylvania: Westholme Publishing LLC, ISBN 978-1-59416-531-3 and others.
His major blow ups with Eisenhower came from two events. Patton's refusal to remove known members of the Nazi Party from government positions basically (paraphrasing) because" they are good guys". The other was bad publicity from Patton actually slapping a soldier in a hospital because he had no visible wounds. Later testified by Doctors that he had dysentery. Then a second case were the soldier had battle fatigue mental problems but again no visible injury. Patton basically beat him severally and threw him out of the hospital. Eisenhower tried to put a lid on it but the Press found out. And so it goes. Also he was little threat to Eisenhower's political aspirations anyway as he was born in Germany.

Larry, my research was EISENHOWER, not Patton if you read my post you would have seen that, however; you are correct Patton's Cadillac was broadsided by an Army truck and oh by the way they never found the driver.....hmmm!
Recent investigations now show that Patton survived the crash and was recovering, some theorists say that he was a Russian target.......others say he died from a heart attack, others say he was shot by a small caliber pistol.

Yes it is true he had a quick temper and had several incidents with IKE. His best friend was Omar B but he got promoted to 5 star some say they had a falling out maybe GP resented Bradleys promotion, we will never know.

Like I said, I just find it interesting that his death did not get more attention than it did.

I do know that Patton was all set to continue fighting all the way from Berlin to Moscow but IKE decided against it thus leading to East and West Germany and the Soviet Union.

At that time Russia had just fought a brutal battle with Germany during a horrible winter, they were without food, gas for their tanks and most of all their Army was beaten.
There is no doubt in my mind that if Ike would have listened to GP that the world would have definitely changed.

My opinion.......don't shoot

I do like the details however. GP's driver was new. His regular driver had earned his points and as the war was dwindling down he was rotated home. The new guy was named in the reports at the time as well as the driver of the truck. It was ruled an accident. No mystery nor sinister behavior.

OK. I'm about to vent so you may want to skip this if you don't want read about American politics (even though this thread is for politics).

I am sick a damn tired of being vilified because my skin is white and I have a penis. (funny how I can type penis and damn but not "vlagra".

I am sick and tired of redistribution of wealth in America. People often thank me for my military service and I'm grateful for that but hey, that's what poor kids do to get through college. It was selfish. It was good to me. I worked my ass off all my life because I wanted something better. I believed I could be anything if I worked hard enough.

The whole time I worked, both as a soldier and as a cop, the government took nearly half of everything and gave it to someone else who wasn't working. To be fair, they provided roads for me to drive on, schools for my kids and a national defense.

But half? After working (literally) 80 hours a week as a cop to save money, my wife of 12 years left me for another guy. Her reward? Half of my shlt, and she never worked a day in her life. Redistribution of wealth.

And I worked in government all of my life. I know how incapable it is. I managed a 300.000 dollar annual budget for my Army unit. At the end of each year I wasted money to make sure it got spent because if I didn't they would reduce my budget the next year by what I didn't spend. What If I need it next year? So we purchased dumb stuff like 800 dollar watches for everyone. Yes, with your tax money. And mine.

This is why I hate too much government. This is why I am a conservative. Small government is good (by the people). Democrats are killing us all.

They want more of what you work for so they can give it to everyone else and waste it. They kill babies. They want to take your guns. They want to give your money to men who suck men and women who lick women (and don't be fooled, this has nothing to do with accepting lifestyles, this is ALL about money. Government giving your money to them).

Oh sure, go ahead. Tell me this is why I have Social Security. Well, even though the Veterans Administration found me unemployable and permanently so, a social security judge determined I am not disabled. After I paid into it for over 30 years! This is how inept government is. The less the better.

Do I sound bitter? You bet I am. And they are probably monitoring this communication right now! They and all the liberals who believe life is some fairy tale fantasy world can just kiss my a$$.

Thank you. I feel better.

Philly, thanks for sharing and I am glad you feel better. First, thank you for your military service and for your civil service, it is people like you that help MAG.
The sad thing is that your story is only one of thousands of guys this has happened to. Some not as bad and some much worse. The thing is if you think about it that was the message of DT, he called you the forgotten men across the nation. What makes his message so incredible is that it is genuine, he really cares. That is why he will win by a landslide in 2020, people across the nation realize his message is true.

Now having stood on my political soap box, I want to add that it does not matter what political party you are affiliated with or even if you have no party or your color of skin and religious belief. All you have to do is ask yourself are you better off than you were in 2015? It does not matter about all the gabage the media puts out or the never ending investigations about DT, his family, friends, business, old girl friends etc!

Those of us that have served our country in one way or another have an unbreakable bond, we know the price of freedom. I will be damned if I will let these far left liberal bastards take my weapons, I say come and get them BETO, I got a surprise waiting for ya.

I have noticed many times that when a Lib gets hurt by the kind of people they are defending, they do a 180, and in the most vicious way. I don't mean them any harm - except when they defend criminal types who have victimized others. Then I wish that they would get hurt in a similar fashion as the people that are victimized by the criminals.

Example a person that owned their own business for 50 years and never paid into SS would recieve ZERO SS when their "so called elegibility date arrives.
Also to further this discussion, your eligibility date is based on your birthday, have you noticed that the government keeps raising the retirement age because they want more $$$$ paid in.
Think about this, a man started working in a factory at the age of 18 and was born in 1949, so in 1967 he starts working. His elegibilty would start at the age of 67 but what if he dies before then lets say he dies at age 65, so he worked for 47 years all the money he paid stays in the government and this happens all the time. If he is married his spouse would be elegible for survivor benefits BUT NOT UNTIL she reaches 62.
I have come to realize that the current SS system is nothing more than a "savings account" for the government! I also have learned that like any business the government has taken out loans on this $$$.

Thoughts guys?

I'm confused like Robert as to how these relatives are collecting SSA just on the basis of being in the USA and never having paid into the system. If that's true I'm really torked having paid in since 1965 every pay day. Think we need further clarification on how this works.

from what i have read on multiple sites the muslim so-called refugees that obama brought in, and all these illegals that they let in are being given in addition to all forms of welfare are also getting a monthly check thru social security, so they get better benefits than American citizens that are homeless and have paid into the system all their lives

There are three Social Security programs. The first two: Social Security Retirement and Social Security Disability require that you worked some period during your life and paid into it.

The third, Supplemental Security Income does not require that you ever worked or paid into it. It only requires that you be poor. You can't have assets (which is why my in laws gave their house to the kids) or other income.

They are legally receiving it. And phonedoc is right. I read an article on this with all the numbers and something like two thirds of immigrants receive federal funding of some kind (housing, food stamps, health care, whatever). This goes for legal and illegal immigrants. California offers some of them free tuition for college.

LovePhilly sounds a bit like Canada. Refugees receive income support, but immigrants are either sponsored and supported by their family or the corporation that hires them. In other cases, depending on your qualifications, you can get a time limited student visa or working visa. After two years, you can technically qualify for income support as a Permanent Resident. Yet there is a five year cap on that for employable’s (like in the US) unless you’re handicapped,or a single parent. It’s tough to qualify for immigration. But refugees just walk across the border from the US in Ontario, Syrian terrorists and the like, some who were British citizens yet UK wouldn’t take them back.

I think SS tax receipts are paid into the general fund. There is no "lock box" of Al Gore fame in that what we pay simply goes into the federal accounts, is used for whatever and our SS checks are paid out of the same commingled general accounts.

SSA can't go BK as it is just an agency or an account. Payments come from the entire federal funds accounts so only it the feds go under will SS money stop flowing.

The probability of that is zero.

Many left wing articles will indicate things like "most undocumented (illegal) immigrants don't qualify for federal assistance. What they don't say is that many of the federal programs are administered by the STATES and many states like California make all sorts of benefits available.

The (pro immigration) articles often skew statistics with phrases such as "a small proportion of welfare benefits go to legal residents compared to citizens born here". Which is true because they make up an over all smaller percentage of the population.

They make the numbers sound the way they want them to. Truth is, we spend billions of tax dollars on immigrants, both legal and illegal. That's why Trumps idea of allowing immigrants based on their ability to contribute to the economy is a good idea rather than "chain migration".

LovePhilly In Canada, there is Income Support for unemployed and handicapped with no other income. Food banks are everywhere., Unemployment Insurance (which you pay into) that allows a pregnant couple time off work at a reduced income or if you loose your job. After 60, you get Old Age Security (around $500 p/m) and Canada Pension Plan (around $2000 p/m) which you pay into. If you never contributed you get Guaranteed Income Supplement. Parents get a monthly National Child Benefit (per child $450 p/mo.). Not bad for a country of 36,000,000.

According to the Vera Institute of Justice, incarceration costs an average of more than $31,000 per inmate, per year, nationwide. In some states, it's as much as $60,000. Taxpayers foot the bill for feeding, housing and securing people in state and federal penitentiaries.May 19, 2017. According to a 2018 report from the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), nearly 2.2 million adults were held in America's prisons and jails at the end of 2016. That means for every 100,000 people residing in the United States. Not including policing & court costs., There are more people (per capita) in US prisons than anywhere else in the world. That taxpayer bill is from $68,200,000. to $122,000,000 annually.

Goslig - I never saw that documentary. Wasn't that the guy that went to a Summer Camp and slaughtered all those children? What a horrendous tragedy. If there is ever clear video footage of these kinds of people without a shadow of a doubt and/or clear DNA Evidence - they must face the Death Penalty, in my very humble opinion. It is just too much. When a person kills even one innocent human, let alone dozens - and then, they are Children - it just cannot be tolerated. I won't be able to watch such a documentary. It's not me putting my head in the sand. I am not hiding from the truth. I just find it too upsetting. I know it happened - and there's not one thing that I can do about it. In regards to the endless number of people in America's Prisons - we are Too Hard on Some (a kid smokes pot and ends up in prison for 10 years for a drug less powerful than Alcohol, America's Favorite and Legal Drug), or we are too soft. For example: Here's a Devastating Story of incredible Injustice too long for me to type about at 4:15 AM so here's a link. Please check it out. This story is by no means isolated. OK, here is one for you and it is imminent. There is a bill being brought before the U.S. Senate next week that looks like there is a good chance it will pass. I will provide the link later but essentially it says that all worker visas to the United States will be given to people from India. No, I'm not joking. Google, Amazon, and all the tech companies have given thousands of dollars to GOP Sen. Mike Lee and he is sponsoring this bill. The idea is that Indians are smart, will work for super cheap and displace the higher cost of American college graduates.

I'm not kidding. Anyone from another country that is talented will be out of luck for the next 7 years and so will American college graduates.

This is bull sh!t. And as much as I like Trump he had better NOT sign this.

I used to carry a throwaway wallet with two Benjamin Franklin's in it and nothing else in case I got into a police entrapment situation like at the Angeles City police station. When they asked me for my id, I would be very complimentary of the PNP officer and give him that. I read a story of an American arrested without reason and transferred to a Jail next, Then he was put it a cell with an African American who told him the Warden would call him out, and sit next to him on a bench. He was told to palm two $100’s (if he had any) to him without saying a word, and he would be released. That’s what happened. It was pure set-up all the way including the African American. The guy carried two Benjamin Franklin’s in his boot. Had to retrieve it without his cell mate seeing it.

There is no way these corrupt people should make more than teachers, police and firemen!

Lets basically clean house on all elected officials.

While we are at it, lets make this a clean slate and pay athletes, celebrities and movie stars the minimum wage as well.

Point is most people do not read signs or instructions.

I don't know how they do it, but they are able to get a number and collect. I knew some people that had family members doing that. In one case, the guy was 18 years old. I had a Filipina GF when I lived in Santa Cruz, CA that asked me if I wanted to buy a social security number that would allow me to collect. I told her "no". She was in the country with false papers. Later she applied for amnesty that was available in the 90's and became a citizen. Anyway, it seems like hard working citizens that do the right things don't know about these scams. LovePhilly You are a man from my own calling. I worked 17 years for Indian & Northern Affairs Canada. I did recoveries from Indian Bands that were defrauding on their welfare funding. My claw back averaged $900,000 a year. The good years were $2.4 to 5 mil. But I could only go so far because even after amortisation for 10-20 years, I could create a black hole of debt that a band wouldn’t never escape from. The RCMP considered it “like a Sears employee stealing from the till”. Only one Indian band criminally charged one of their administration staff (internal politics). Yet the Government of Canada was swindling the Indian Bands about 10-20 mil a year for ten years. I put my hammers on that one too, but (of course) it was a career limiting move. My exit strategy included exposing an internal po#n ring that took down the Regional Director General and many others. My manager (an Indian woman) was fired, and I quit. Loved every moment. I found the Indians relieved to give up their fraud. To make amends, I created 13 Indian run child protection agencies involving 116 Indian Bands all by my lonesome. I loved driving the back roads (in all weather) in the Northern wilderness in a Chrysler 300. Picked up Indian hitch hikers too. In the winter up North you get -40 cl. & a 20 foot plus snow bank on either side the road. Retirement kind of sucks, but I got a life now.

GOS/LARRY/PHILLY and DARK, I totally agree with GOS.......yeah we can talk about the RP in a variety of subjects but to be honest with you to me it gets old and boring.
The newbies always asking the same questions that we have answered many times over and over when all they have to do is look up the topics when they log in and choose what they are looking for.

I used to enjoy a good political debate but anymore the pure hatred surfaces, some people are so far left you cannot even reason with them.
Have you noticed that everything you read or watch is all about DT......the narrative is all about collusion, taxes, telephone calls etc,,,,,!
I say man enough is enough!

On the other side the DEMS are so far left they will never get back to center.

Gos- you’re right, talking about politics when you’re away for you have been helps you retain your culture and sense of bearing.

As I have learned, there are many many rules on what you can talk about in the Vancouver Island sign up. The organics, and feminists, set the agenda, when you suggest another topic the bar you from speaking about it. Quite a culture on Vancouver Island.

Goslig - More great stories about your time in The Great White North - with Indian Tribes. I remember in the Winter of 1967 in the Gallup, New Mexico area - Navajo Nation - it got so cold that horses, sheep and cattle on the Reservation would freeze to death standing up. It would be a Crystal Clear Day, Sunshine and all, but cars going down Route 66 (Get Your Kicks) would have their radiators freeze due to -40 Fahrenheit plus a Wind Chill from car momentum. I cannot imagine you up on the back roads of that tundra in a Chrysler 300!! You shoulda had your Everest! I remember my Step-Dad buying a Chevy Blazer 4 wheel drive the first year it came out. He wasted no time. Last I heard - it was still running. You could not hold those old Chevies down. On my way walking to school my hair would freeze and my nostrils would stick together when I inhaled. Funny memories. My kids would say to me "Yeah, right, Dad! And we're sure you walked to and from school 5 miles in the snow on your knees
uphill - BOTH WAYS!!" LOL

Robert - If Newbies ask the same questions previously asked by others - it's only because they don't know that it's been asked and answered. I was (and maybe still am) clueless when I first got to this Forum. I was truly startled by the things that I first read about here. The RP is shrouded in Mystery, as I am sure the USA and Canada is to outsiders. Only there is a lot of information about the USA available in comparison to the RP. From what I gather, the RP may be just as mysterious to RP Officials, as I read that you get different answers from different Officials!! So I recommend that one of us points out to Newbies where to go for answers. I know that there is a Treasure Trove of information available on this site. I truly appreciate what I have learned here. Groups of postings that I find particularly useful - I copy and paste into Documents and save them as "pdf" files and store them on a Thumb Drive. Very handy for Future Reference.

Most democratically elected governments that are a minority need a third party to vote on legislation with them to stay in power. All Trump needs is William Barr, Mike Pompeo, Rudy Giuliani, and Deep State hard drives to prevent being exposed by the truth.

GOS/PHILLY/DARK. I just watched Mark Levine and Steve Hilton who by the way in my opinion are the best at what they do in the universe.
Mark Levine showed a step by step layout of this whole "LEAKER" story, he showed how this all was generated by the left and planned months ago. He specifically showed how SCHIFF portrayed the whole transcript and writing the end before the start..
Steve Hilton delved into the Biden and son escapades.
My takeaway was this is just another planned event to takedown DT.

Personally as a taxpayer for many years and a military veteran of 30 years I find this government corruption appalling.

Interesting enough both of these gentlemen pointed out that this type of corruption is not something new. It just reared its ugly head because DT won the election in 2016 and that the left was completely caught off guard and have been recovering ever since.
They will not rest until DT is impeached because they simply cannot accept defeat, it was not in the plan.
There is no doubt in my mind that the House will bring forth Impeachment proceedings BUT they will NEVER get an Impeachment vote in the Senate.
Meanwhile nothing is getting done in the government, just as promised by the DEMS after 2016. Everything DT has accomplished he has done his own......sad isn't it.

LovePhilly I completely disagree with your assessment on many levels. Never before has Americans been more divided. The deficit will reach $960 billion for the 2019 fiscal year, which ends today. That gap will widen to $1 trillion for the 2020 fiscal year. The president has mused in recent days about reducing the taxes that investors pay on capital gains, a move that is estimated to add $100 billion to deficits over the next decade. He has also talked about cutting payroll taxes, which could reduce revenues by $75 billion a year for every percentage point cut in payroll tax rates. Typically, the budget deficit shrinks when unemployment is low. But it is increasing despite the longest economic expansion on record. and the lowest jobless rate in 50 years.. It is 25 percent larger than it was in 2018, and the budget office predicts it will continue to rise every year through 2023. Mr. Trump’s indifference to deficits has shattered his campaign promise not only to balance the budget, but also to pay off the entire national debt. This has pushed Congress to cut future deficits by reducing benefits for federal health care and retirement programs, like Medicare and Social Security..
The deficit has now risen four consecutive years, and is on track to rise for the next four. Such a streak would break the record for longest run of deficit increases in recorded American history, five years, from 1939 to 1943. This underscores the degree to which Republicans in Washington — who championed fiscal responsibility under President Barack Obama, a Democrat — have largely abandoned that goal. While lawmakers continue to talk about the need to reduce the deficit, it is no longer the kind of animating issue that ushered the Tea Party into power. This is only one topic for which I conclude that Trump is the most dangerous wrecking ball ever to occupy the White House.

Gos, I do agree with you about the deficit. It is simply unacceptable from either side of the isle. I will remind you however that congress controls the purse strings, not the president. He can veto all day long but still get blamed if federal workers don't get paid. This is our congress at work.

You know this. And really? You want to blame him for draining the swamp? He promised us he would and he is! The entire district of Washington (the swamp) is attacking him every day on every level because they have been rolling in the taxpayer pig pen so deep they never want it to stop.

I don't blame them but you can't be sincere in your concern about our deficit if you support anyone who wants "free" healthcare, "free" college "free" everything that is NOT free.

I would like to add a footnote to my post about Trump’s disastrous deficit. If there is a recession and interest rates rise, then you will have a stunning collapse in the economy and the deficit will multiply. Tariffs only hurt US companies who then pass those costs onto consumers. Consumer debt reached 13 trillion in the fourth quarter of 2018. When I learned to ride a motorcycle. it was disastrous to look at the road in front of your bike. You had to look down the highway at where you wanted to be. Both Republicans and Democrats have forgotten this on the economy and environment.

If you really want to balance the budget then take care of your own debt before sending ONE DOLLAR to help other countries. In 2018 the US spent over 14 BILLION in AIDE to other countries Now I know thats peanuts as compared to trillions but it sure is a healthy start.......agreed?

RobertDav good question.
$2,065,536,336,472.90 to be exact - in new debt between Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2017, and February 11, when the country pushed past $22 trillion. (The US added another $2.8 billion through February 15, the latest daily figures available.) That is less than the $3.46 trillion added between Obama's inauguration in January 2009 and February 11, 2011, but it is more than the $676 billion added under Bush and the $617 billion added under Clinton in their first 752 days as president.
One important difference between Trump's debt figures and Obama's is that Trump has added a massive amount of debt while the US economy has been strong, whereas Obama took over during the depths of the financial crisis.. Economists typically recommend that the federal government increase spending, and thus add more debt, during times of economic struggles and then pay down that debt when the economy recovers. So while economic theory would support Obama's spending to help support the economy, Trump's recent debt binge has less support among economists.. Trump will have accumulated $3.73 trillion in new debt by the end of the 2020 fiscal year, and if he wins reelection, the total debt added is projected to come in at $8.78 trillion. Trump could add roughly the same amount of debt as Obama over two terms, when the economy was far better. The US national debt passed $22 trillion on February 11, the first time the federal debt had breached that threshold.
The landmark came just over two years after President Donald Trump, who once promised to eliminate the federal debt in eight years, took over the Oval Office.

Stealing attention at the expense of the community, defaming respectable people simply to inflate a childish ego should not be encouraged. Please, count the comments on this blog, and exactly what neurotic is pouring out his poison, constantly. One 'clown' is dominating this outlet, and all you need for evil to succeed is for 'good' people to do nothing. I would suggest something be done. The outlandish abuse just given to Morjac is real serious. Will the group please wake up.

LovePhilly To clarify the rules on dual citizenship, a legal case was won against the State Department in around 1983 because under American Law, it was illegal to become a citizen of a foreign country. After entering Canada, I maintained my American citizenship since I worked for private agencies. Then I was offered a good opportunity with the Province of British Columbia government.. I then applied for Canadian citizenship and was granted it to meet their job requirement to be a Canadian citizen. You have to swear an oath to the Queen. I went to the US consulate in Vancouver and reported my Canadian citizenship BUT DID NOT DENOUNCE MY AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP. Israel had been granting unsolicited Israeli citizenships to Jewish Americans who, then, the State Department took away their US citizenship. The case went to court, and exceptions were established for “dual citizenship” that included “condition of employment”. Briefly the State Department took away my US citizenship while my case was reviewed. I never broke any US laws and I complied with the Draft Act. My US citizenship was then reinstated, and I was reissued a new US passport that I have kept renewed since then. My Canadian born daughter was also granted US citizenship and has her US passport and SS card since she was “born to an American living overseas” and was “NOT AN ALIEN” (lol). I thank the Jewish people who led the way to allow for dual citizenship under certain circumstances. I left my provincial job and, then, got a much better federal job, but favourite sons are always selected before naturalised citizens unless your qualifications are far better. I have been a Quaker, or member if American Friends Society since 1966. I don’t tell lies.

Morgacj2004 Unlike you or Trump, I check my facts. I use Google. You know that I am an American, but choose to lie about it. Don’t try and change the context. If I make a mistake, I apologise and correct it. You have no humility and are incapable of it. You are just a political troll for Trump. I have no respect for your kind. There are other Trump supporters that I do respect and agree to disagree with. But all you got is personal attacks and lies. Educate yourself with facts instead of listening to Fix News. (there are pictures) But I never bad mouthed him the way these people disrespect this man and will say and do anything to have him removed just because there criminal candidate lost even though she cheated and did everything she could do to win. Google uses there algorithm to skew the results of your searches as admitted by a real whistle blower. And as far a honesty goes CNN and MSMBC are truly honest in there reporting. NOT True believers that if you shove the same lie up people's ass' enough it will become the truth. It's the lefts modus operandi. Is Trump perfect? No not at all but he has many redeeming quality's like calling people out who are full of crap unlike republicans of the past that cow tow thinking that the left will be nice to them only to find out that they will use them and then destroy them personally. 60 million+ of us Americans have had enough and are glad to have somebody in the oval office that truly has our back.

That's right Allen, preach the word brother, you are right on! There was a technique of propaganda used by the Nazi called "The Big Lie". They demonstrated if you made a lie so big it was unbelievable, the masses would accept that it must be true because nobody would make that up.

The libtards here in America are busy inventing news stories to distract everyone from what is really going on. They know they are gonna lose again and it will probably mean two more conservative voices on the Supreme Court for many years to come. They are losing their minds over this. It means the end of abortion. It means safe borders. It means no one will get free taxpayer money for being gay and I won't have to pay for sex change operations.

So it's not about President Trump per say, it's the issues that matter. I agree with him on the issues and so do many millions of Americans that don't live in an overcrowded city.

A little humor with all these insults.....

Anybody ever see the movie with EDDIE MURPHY where he talks with animals i.e. DR. DOLITTLE?

There is a scene where he is taking his dog to the vet office and he is sitting there with all of these pets.........there is a GERMAN Shepherd that is going in to be snipped......he says"cmon man it wasn't me, she is lying, please no".......I found this to be extremely humorous considering the adjective LIAR has been used in this thread.

Robertdav298 LIAR is a noun, not an adjective. It was used to accurately describes the comment directed by the poster at me as part of a personal attack who knew it was a lie. Lies are now proliferating the thread devoted to US politics that is exclusively kept going by the right wing radicals on this forum prone to using swear words to indicate their support for the current president who was elected by a minority and who has approval by a minority and who is also a serial LIAR.

Yes, it is well known that people mispeak on things to suit their own narrative. All you have to do is listen to the media for one hour and you will see this to be true.
It is also well known that you are NOT a DT supporter.

Unfortunately in todays political arena, lying, name calling and hatred seems to be the norm.
Being civil went out the window after 2016.
You can expect the right wingers to continue being aggressive i.e. DT supporters as long as the left continues its continued rhetoric against DT. People like Adam Schiiff, Maxine Watters, Nancy Pelosi, Jerry Nadler, the squad have vowed to impeach DT since the day he was elected.
The people of the US are not stupid they see right thru this charade. Why doesn't House focus on the real issues facing our country i.e Health Care, Immigration, Taxes, Infrastructure......just to name a few?

You know why, it's because fixing any of these issues would be a win for DT AND THEY CANNOT HAVE THAT!!
Meanwhile the American people are waiting.......but you know what? Come election time these people are gonna be looking for work.

I will continue with the majority of America who are dissatisfied with DT for well grounded and trustful reasons. I could become a Republican or Democrat, but I remain independent. Trump is taking back the USA, I’m gathering. The Democrats have all the banks, insurers, mass media , white hating Don Lemon, Anderson popper, multinationals on there side+++, . Don’t you find that the least bit alarming, or of concern? What Monsanto, AT&T or Bank or America , Soros, ect. Wants , may not be in line with your average working class Democrat. Quite sure of this fact. but they are funding the Dems 110% . The Dems are the party of big control and big Corporations now. The old Dems don’t exist anymore. Hi jacked by the extreme left and multinationals , billionaires and the like . I miss the Dems if old frankly....

Once Trump and his show is gone it’s back to Multinationalism, little military, and corporatism , pro China +++... just a hunch... more than a hunch actually.

I think the Americans are smarter than we think - even the smelly Walmart shoppers ( as the Dems say) and can look at Europe and see what leftist Brussels has brought Euro Nations via the EU and restrictions on there own nation , de- nationalism, , and a languishing economic outlook, major debt , crime , uncontrolled boarders and uncertified immigration from Africa. Need I go on? Your average Yank can see through fake socialism the brand the current Dems are trying to sell.

1) is he not the elected person in 2016, like it or not?

2) why doesn't the oppostion work on the issues the country has rather than fight the fight everyday? Doesn't the people win regardless of party lines, if they fix health care or infrastructure?

Now I had to put up with the last president for EIGHT grueling years, imagine that.

Regardless of how you feel about DT, you have to agree that the country has issues that need to be addressed.

I hear the New York Senate - almost all Dems - as they stand up and ROAR in support of actually allowing the deaths of Babies that DARE TO BE BORN ALIVE when an abortion does not work - INFANTICIDE. If you, as a Quaker, don't think that God Almighty is going to judge THAT - then I don't know what to say. And all I can think is "Dear, Lord - we really need help!" darkfader24 Just listen to the vile posts directed at me on this Forum, the FIX news vile reporting, the DT running dogs vile lies and distortions of truth. The host of intelligence agencies and the Inspector general are all making vile lies? You are more intelligent than to believe that. There are sound medical reasons for terminating a pregnancy. The life of a mother who can produce more babies is worth saving. Unwanted pregnancies are doomed children. That is a fact well established in early childhood development psychology, my focus in University. Wade vs. Roe established the rights of the mother by individuals who are much better informed and educated than you or I. I bear the scars of an unwanted pregnancy. Take it from me. If you are unwanted and unloved as a child it is a terrible life long burden to overcome. Some do though, myself included. I believe an unwanted pregnancy of a healthy baby should be carried to full term and, then, immediately & permanently placed within in 2 months of birth. Drug addicted babies going through withdrawal need to be removed from their drug addicted mother and placed in a supportive and loving environment with parental substitutes than can cope with their constant agitation and screaming until drug withdrawal has completed its course. Infants bounced from one placement to the next in the first 24 months of life are unable to form attachments permanently. They have little or no capacity to soothe themselves. If child removals are done after three years, there is hope. I witnessed the permanently damaged for 17 years in a maximum security psychiatric hospital. No one wants a life like that.

Currently, there is only an Impeachment Inquiry uncovering a lot of damning information about DT. If the House votes to impeach by a majority, the Senate,!then, decides on whether an Impeachment trial is to be conducted. I am well aware of the Republican majority in the Senate. I support the Inquiry because it is a form of public censure of DT breaching his oath of office. All his dirty laundry needs to be hung out for public display. It doesn’t matter that much if the Senate tries him and finds him guilty. At this point, it is too much to hope for that the Republican Party would be honest. I support the process even if it does not succeed since the majority of Americans disapprove of DT.

I am a moderate conservative if I have to present a label here. It slays me to hear Republicans take a holier-than-thou position about abortion. Republicans had several opportunities to overturn Roe vs. Wade during the periods when they controlled the house and Senate. They have a conservative majority on the Supreme Court and still nothing. Even during the Reagan/Moral Majority year’s they didn’t do it. Republican politicians pimp their electorate about abortion and keep them riled for money and votes just as the Democrat party pimp black and other minority voters into believing the GOP is an exclusively rich white man’s club full of fascists, when nothing is farther from the truth. Anyone studying politics outside of CNN and Fox News understands the U.S. is an oligarchy and Police/Surveillance State sanctioned by both parties. Democrats don’t bother to mention that 2/3rds of Fortune 500 companies are registered or headquartered in Biden’s State of Delaware. The reason being, the Democrats are in the same back pockets as the Republicans. These people on both sides have one ideal. It is to raise money and profit to retain their power. While doing so, they manipulate people such as those debating on this thread about the virtues of their party that doesn’t even exist..
The economic engine of the U.S. is governed by neoliberalism and both parties embrace it with open arms and have absolutely no intention of changing any of it.

Here is something to think about.
“ Every historical culture from ancient Greece, Rome, Imperial France, (Marquis De Sade), has had an explosion of open and public homosexuality before that culture collapsed. The creation of all strong nations or peoples begins with common characteristics, (Will Durant) such as duty, rigid discipline, work, and common religious ethics which produce in that society industry, prosperity, and wealth. That very wealth creates ease, entertainment, and luxury; and that luxury eventually leads to sloth, decadence, and a cultural downfall. To acquiesce to tolerance is necessary, but to blindly remain ignorant is not. One should understand why North American culture no longer engenders respect, or appeals to the common man. ( It no longer adheres to the 'Living Word', the Bible.) “
I would question whether the lack of Bible/faith in and of itself is responsible for the disintegration of Western culture. I would guess it has more to do with the lack of commonality between sects, races, and ethnicities. The first step to bring down opposition it to cause divisions in a society. Marxists are blamed from the opposition and so are fascists from the other side. I believe it is the super rich and their political minions keeping everyone stirred up and divided. When the masses are divided, they are then controlled.

Label the fake/fix cover ups and highlight the TRUTH. Put it to a vote. Any bets that Trump’s going to loose or win yet? I appreciate your decorum of debate that is free of vile name calling. I fully realise that 42% of Americans believe anything Trump says. That doesn’t bother me. In Canada, most white Canadians I met disliked the indigenous people. Thought they got too much of a free ride. Of course their land was stolen from them and they were massacred by the white invaders and neighbouring tribes. All indigenous Canadians hate white people with good reason. I mention this to point out that it doesn’t matter who the parties are. The problem is the same. Larry, I also have a friend that uses Ventolin and pays 560ph at Rose pharm.

I have so many retired military friends that live here for many different reasons but one thing they all have in common is the medical benefits and the peso/dollar rate.

Many of my friends that live in Singapore, mostly Navy are condsidering the RP because they barely survive on their pensions.

I read so many complaints about the RP and yes I complain as well but when it all shakes down its home for many of us.

For me it is like dejavu i.e going back in time to the late sixties......I remember when sort of thing.......example.....when I go to shell and get gas......they pump it for me, they clean my windows, put air in my tires i.e. full service.
Do they do that in Canada......I am thinking no? Oh by the way I tip the guy 50ph and he is delighted as he smiles and walks away.

Goslig- I prefer facts over name calling.
Fact: Clinton cheated just ask Sanders. She also was given questions to a debate by Donna Belize after she won the nomination.
The DNC paid for foreign documents (Steel dossier) to try and change an election. That document was used to obtain a warrant to spy on her opponent. They sent people to the Ukraine to dig up dirt on there opponent.
Fact: Hillary Clinton violated the espionage act with a rogue server used for state department business. She obstructed justice by destroying subpoenaed documents with bleach bit and hammering cell phones. Her husband pulled strings to get her out of it with the department of justice on the tarmac in Phoenix.
Fact: The Mueller report found Trump committed no crime. If he had it would have recommended indictment.
And last but not least because I'm pressed for time,
FACT: The whistle blower complaint does not even come close to the transcript of the call. That's why Schiff read into the congressional record fabricated crap and so it could be played on the evening news to try to get the American people on there side. The president is not perfect but he is clearly being railroaded. The Senate will not convict so this is all aimed at the next election and to try to calm the base. Ask yourself why it has not been brought to the floor of the house for a vote. Also he is allowed to investigate corruption in the government with foreign countries and there are treaties with said governments covering this.

Thanks Tallen for finally a factual response. One thing being left out of the conversation about the release is the bashing of Trump and the Ukraine president about Merkel and the lack of funding by Germany on military aid and him them trying to get more. They are the third largest contributor after the USA and EU, but refuse that any of their aid go for military purposes. They are no doubt frightened Putin will turn the gas pump off one cold winter. Let us see how the IG report, the 2016 investigation by Barr and the Attorney in Connecticut as well , and Ukraine play out and let all the chips fall where they may. I am much less concerned about corruption in the Ukraine or any other country, as I am about it in Washington on both parties. Let us be clear this impeachment has nothing to do with Ukraine, but has everything to do with two things. The first item is they want to hopefully get to them, before Barr and the IG get to Obama's rogue outfit and at least soil Trump as much as possible. They know they cannot win on impeachment, but the Republicans have many more open seats in just red, or purple states this election cycle. The Dems have virtually no vulnerable seats. The second objective is all Dem candidates have pledged to get rid of the Trump tax plan, ad dramatically hike rates on individuals and corporations. By weakening Trump's hand in foreign negotiations he will unlikely reach any agreement on tariff's going forward. If corporations hold back spending over fear of Socialism, and no tariffs our reached soon, it is highly likely we will be in a recession. They will blame Trump and say capitalism is a failure and why we need socialism as they ran the economy off the road again. They are happy to throw the little guy off a cliff with higher unemployment, and worst wages to achieve power. They truly have a disdain for lower income Americans and people of color as their policies have been most destructive to both economically. I have 4 children that are 39, 37, 26, and 24 years old. They have never experienced a healthy economy and are now for the first time seeing raises and companies competing for their labor. Bill Clinton was the last great economy, and likely the last Democrat Capitalist ever. We have two generations that have never seen a vibrant growing economy and unemployment at a 50 year low. They certainly did not learn about capitalism in high school or in college, only how it has failed their generation. If Trump shows them how successful it can work done correctly, he potentially will be FDR to these generations and wreck the Democrats for the next 50 years. We will have at least one seat if Trump wins as Thomas will retire so he can appoint his successor, and there potentially could be more. When you add it all up we are in for a wild ride. I am happy for discussion on ideas and thoughts, but the personal insults on this thread is incredibly juvenile, disrespectful and uncalled for.. I voted for Trump not because I liked him, but I look at actions and not words. I loved how President Obama spoke and he said many of the right words, but it's some of his policies I didn't like. The Republicans have many failures and especially health care, gay rights, and will lose voters on abortion and gun reforms. Who amongst us doesn't have gay friends, family members, or know people that have had abortions. My closest friend was saved by Obama care, and I know its not perfect, but we need healthcare and other issues badly. Get you asses to work in Washington and start by working on turn limits! Sorry for the length and my inner city school grammar.

As a fiscal conservative I tend to lean more liberal on social policies so I agree with most of what you said. I voted Libertarian last election but will vote for DT over any of the current Democratic candidates. I don’t care for Trump as a person but I agree with a lot of his policies. The Democratic Party which I used to belong to is now a big failure and does nothing but obstruct as their own ideas are so far left of the average American.

Goslig, whether one follows the Bible, or not, which I do not, in a society it creates commonality, and therefore, cohesion. Without something to hold ourselves accountable to that is higher than we humans, who then determines right from wrong? From your view, really, you would hold no more of a right over me as a fellow human being than I to you. That is why secular thinking never works for a society. The push for diversity is a perfect example. It creates conflict as one set of thought collides with another. Eventually, one’s rights become determined by the end of a gun.................

Catabisis You do not need a bible to know right from wrong. What you need is good moral and truthful role models and education. You also need cognitive development and life experience. Goslig, you said you believe in a collective unconscious where the right thing to do is clearly defined. It is what brings dignity to your soul.
Again, who defines it? Philosophers? They can’t even agree what is Truth. Psychologists? Sociologists? Political thinkers? They have similar track records as discordant philosophers. Nazis had a collective, unconsciousness about what they were doing and collectively believed it brought dignity to the souls of Germans and to Germany. Especially after their dignity was stripped after WWl, which led to the rise of Nazism in the first place. Gheghas Khan and his crew thought the same thing. As did any other invader and despot throughout history.
Obviously, the writer of the passage is Christian, so he would use the Bible as his message that it’s use would be the better path. But the message I posted, as a whole, implies that a society needs a direction lead by an entity that all, or the majority, are on the same or similar page.
That can’t happen if everyone subscribed to your logic, which is based upon relativism. It always fails, Just as historian Will Durant points out and proves in some of his other writings about past societies and civilizations.
The founding fathers also understood. It is why they included a God, any God, into the Bill of Rights. They understood relativism. Those well-read men knew if they did not include in that document that there is something higher than all of us, then Man would be left to his own devices, and that never turns out well. There will always be someone who wants it all and will fight to get it in your Utopian ideal..........Catabisis. You do not need a bible to know right from wrong. What you need is good moral and truthful role models and education. You also need cognitive development and life experience. Bible thumping may work for some, but is meaningless to me. Morgacj2004 As a fiscal conservative, you and I can agree on that. So what is your opinion of the massive growth in the deficit during the golden age of the US economy? Isn’t this the time to reduce the deficit? It is 22 trillion and has risen 2 trillion since Trump took office. Consumer debt reached 13.3 trillion in 2018. There is a 58 percent chance of the economy being in a recession by mid-2020, and a 77 percent chance of a recession beginning in the next 24 months. Consumer spending that drives the GNP will slow down dramatically to keep up with rising interest rates. All the media attention is focused on the actual recording of Trump’s “favour” being leveraged with the Ukraine. Meanwhile the US financial ship is sinking. As for real challengers to Trump, there is only one that can destroy him. Michelle Obama.

Who is "...free sh#t for everybody?"

Which party "...a approval rating of 35% among the black community?"

Most certainly the left leaning party in America isn't doing any of those things. However, many on the right ARE "throwing concrete and beating innocent people in the streets."

The Mango Mussolini will be impeached shortly after Congress returns from recess and for the next year we will have a religious nut job in the White House because it now appears that even the Moscow Mitch led cabal in the Senate is seeing the light and will convict once the House sends the impeachment over for trial.

catabisis The collective unconscious is an inherited collection of knowledge and images that every human being and other mammals have at birth. People are unaware of the items contained in their collective unconscious. The mother - child relationship is an example, the unselfish impulse to help another in need. saving a drowning victim, rescuing someone from a fire. There are many examples. These aren’t things you learn from reading the bible. They come naturally to you unless you suffer from a mental disorder like narcissism, sociopathy, psychopathy or other disorders where the is no cognition of feelings. Giving food to a starving person, helping someone, these are all part of the collective unconscious. Other mammals display this. My favourite example comes from Africa where slavers were whipping a small girl left alone on a ranch to make submit to going with them to be a slave. Some Lions nearby heard her cries. They attacked the slavers and drive them off standing guard over the child until her parents returned. The Lions felt the little girls pain.

Michelle Obama is not a candidate. It will most likely be Warren or Sanders. The old saying also applies in that you sometimes need to spend money to make money. The money for strengthening the border, changing the tax code and other issues was needed. Neither party has done anything to dramatically reduce the deficit. Until the US no longer needs to be the worlds policeman the deficit will increase mainly due to military spending.

MORGAC, I used to believe as use do that we are a nation of law and order but the events over the past couple of years have changed my mind. I now believe that our Police are sitting ducks because their is no respect for the men in blue, especially the younger generation.
Just look what continues to happen in cities like Chicago, LA, Baltimore, Portland, Houston and most recently NEW YORK.
I saw a program with police of NY and they were asked if they had the choice would they volunteer again and the answer was emphatically NO!
One reason was the so called mayor of NY city does have their back and does not respect the uniform.
I think this speaks volumes for the liberal party today.
Do you think the left RESPECTS the President of the US? Our teens watch the news, read FB, they see the kind of manutia that is reported everyday.

In your lifetime people had respect for elders, clergymen, policemen, teachers, doctors and servicemen. Do you see that same kind of respect in the US today?

That is the very reason why I have so much respect for the culture and people in the RP, for me it is like going back to a happier time.

Think about it, HC said today that DT is not a real president i.e illegitimate......that has been the mindset of the DEM PARTY ever since the 2016 election. They will obstruct and resist DT at all costs and will not give up until this illegitimate President is impeached.
They will sell America out financially as long as DT does not succeed. They do not care about the people and the economy at all, They are like a blood hound on a rabbit trail.
In spite of the obstruction to date, the middle class wages have gone up over 5k, unemloyment is at a 50 year low. Now I know there are libs on this site that will look past all of the good and only point out things like the national debt and the immigration problems.....blah.....blah!

One last thing, I want to say that I am not a radical right winger what I am is a conservative and for me right now DT is a hell of alot better than anything the other party has to offer. If I were in VEGAS I would put my money on RED.

Money will be tight. Consumer spending will drop reducing the GNP. The recession w is being caused by the tariff wars. Who pays the tariff, US companies. Markets are lost. Robertdav298. I don’t disagree, but your zealous presentation sometimes mischaracterises places. I grew up in a peaceful Chicago before guns came into the Ghetto sparked by a Chicago police massacre of Black Panthers. Nonprofit news outlet The Trace released a report showing homicide rates per 100,000 residents in major U.S. cities over the past five years, finding that Chicago is nowhere near the top of the list. Between 2010 and 2015, the Windy City had 16.4 murders per 100,000 residents while St. Louis and New Orleans had homicide rates far higher on average. While the absolute numbers certainly show Chicago has a massive problem on its hands, this metric does mitigate the risk factor to some extent, showing that many other large U.S. cities are far more violent.

This whole gun thing is stupid to talk about. Almost all gun deaths in America occur in about five cites and almost all with hand guns. Deaths with rifles were less that with baseball bats last year. So get rid of baseball bats. Better yet, over 60.000 die on Americas highways each year. Get rid of cars!

This does not include injured victims that survive. This is a conservative measure of the problem, as many rampages with fewer
There were 340 US mass shootings in 2018, which means there were nearly as many shootings as days in the year.

GOS.....I agree with the violent city comment, GOD knows there are so many to list.

My theory on guns is this, guns do not kill, people kill! I think yearly stats will show that more people die in car crashes each year than by guns and yet know one is talking about removing cars. Although with the "green new deal" that may change.
I agree that there is no need for AR's in our society.
However, think of this, lets say we ban AR and all semi-automatic weapons. What will that do? It will drive up the price for these illegal weapons and guess what if a person really wants to get one of these banned weapons they will (black market)
Another thing to consider and probably the most revelant given our current situation with borders is weapons being smuggled in each day by the cartels. These weapons along with drugs is "big business" and I can tell you first hand there are politicians making lots money at our expense.
These politicians will stand up before the American people and grandstand about how we need gun and drug control as their pocket book is overflowing with drug and weapon money.
So do not be so gullible and believe that congree will actually pass legislation that hurts their wallet, it ain't gonna happen.

Every country in the world has gun ownership, especially Switzerland where nothing like this has ever happened. Don’t further endanger innocent Americans by whining about some military assault weapons being banned.

Clinton had a Rhodes Scholarship, which was a legitimate deferment. Obama had no obligation to serve because there was no war involving a draft. That makes him the same as one of my brothers and all 5 of my sisters and the vast majority of Americans.

Your "but what about" does not hold water.

The problem with Bush (AKA The Shrub) is that he was AWOL for most of his reserve time and I consider him to be a draft dodger as a result of that AWOL behavior.

Right on Lovephilly. Criminals are criminals because they don't follow laws, especially gun laws. My dad had a assault weapon it was called a belt.
And you don't pay down the deficit, you spend less. Obama added more to the national debt than all the presidents of the past combined! We will see what it looks like after 8 years of Trump. The house holds the purse strings and sends a bunch of crap to the president to sign. If he shuts the government down by not sighing he's the bad guy. If he signs he's the bad guy. What do you think is going to happen when you raise the corporate tax rate to 70% and tax the wealthy to death to pay for free crap. And maybe we are tired of China and other countries steeling us blind. A lot of countries have come around and China will as well sooner or later. America makes the world go round financially that's why everything is bought and sold in US dollars.

tlallen59 Under President Obama's eight years, the national debt increased 100%, from US$10 trillion to $20 trillion, although the economic stimulus following the 2008 financial crisis added quite an early boost to the economy. That’s how America got the great economy we have today. You can’t seem to see the forrest through the trees. Tax cuts continue to add to the burden. That affect was heightened by the passage of President Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017, which cut both corporate and individual taxes. Wars with Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Primarily have cost the U.S. $5.9 Trillion since 2001. Aimed at providing financial security to the retired and disabled, total Social Security and other expenditures are $1 trillion.. The portion of the national budget that is allocated for military-related expenditures is currently $1.1 trillion. Your comment relies on over simplification. When the times are flush, you pay down the deficit (not increase it). During a recession, you need to lower interest rates, sell treasury bonds and spend money that will increase your deficit. If Obama hadn’t done that America would still be in recession. You’re mixing your politics up with economic theory and practice.

Here are some "Assault Rifle" facts:

In 2016, (in the U.S.) there were approximately:
• 40,000 motor vehicle-related deaths
• 39,000 people firearm-related deaths
• 64,000 people drug overdose-related deaths

From 2007 through 2017 those killed with long guns (of all types) average 439 per year (out of 350,000,000).

Nearly 1,700 people were murdered with a knife or sharp object per year. That’s almost four times the number of people murdered by an assailant with any sort of rifle.

In any given year, for every person murdered with a rifle, there are;

15 murdered with handguns,

1.7 with hands or fists, and

1.2 with blunt instruments.

In fact, homicides with any sort of rifle represent a mere 3.2 percent of all homicides on average over the past decade.

Given that the FBI statistics pertain to all rifles, the homicide frequency of “assault-style” rifles like the AR-15 is necessarily lesser still, as such firearms compose a fraction of all the rifles used in crime.

According to a New York Times analysis, since 2007, at least “173 people have been killed in mass shootings in the United States involving AR-15s.”

That’s 173 over a span of a decade, with an average of 17 homicides per year.

Over 60% of all firearm deaths are suicide and an additional fraction are justified police shootings and accidents.

Thanks Philly.....good stuff....appreciate!

GOS.......concerning the "national debt" politicians are only concerned about the debt when things are not going as they planned or they are having trouble getting their favors approved.

If you did a deep dive and looked where the bulk of the money was owed and looked at where we could payoff some debt my guess is that you would find that we are paying more out thna we take in........for example......look how much the governement spends each month/year on illegal immigrants and welfare recipients? What if we were cut off all foreign aide?
The government spends approximately 70K on each illegal immigrant multiply that by how many there are, the figure is mind boggling......want to payoff the debt......then submit a plan to stop this atrocities. How about the money we send to the middle east annually?
These are just two that I thought of, I am sure there are many more.

Because the word "Bill" is in the word billionaire, does not mean it is relevant to any linear thread of thought about 'golf-courses'. This is absurd. I'm willing to listen to arguments, but oversight and maturity must be applied or governed here to continue any thread of logic or even my involvement. (Enough said)

Owning language and labels...the Dems strategy.

If for example, if I oppose abortion but promote all other aspects of female health provided by the tax dollar funded organization "Planned Parenthood Federation of America", they say I oppose the organization and all other aspects of it. I promote free birth control. I promote tax payer funded breast exams. I promote counseling. They will label ME anti woman because I don't want my money used to kill babies. In truth, they are all about abortion. Those clinics are able to keep fed money for all other aspects of the program but are instead choosing to shut down, which to me indicates they don't give a crap about women's health. Just about killing babies.

Here's another....

I don't care about how anyone chooses to live their life but it's not up to me to pay for it! The Dem's have lost their minds! Here is what some of them are promising:

Pete butt lover and Booker, Biden, Warren.. well all of them:

Establish transgender ideology as law and make illegal any complimentary differences between men and women.

Promote queer status in the elementary schools.

Allow queers to donate blood again.

Make sure some of our Military Generals are queers.

Stop giving foreign aid to any country that doesn't support homosexuality.

Make sure male queers in prison can stay in the female prisons and vice versa.

Use tax payer money to fund all sex change operations.

Man I could go on but I'm tired. I don't care who is queer but I'm NOT PAYING for it.

It's identity politics. Dems pick every single group and make them a bunch of BS promises.

Look, these people aren't even Democrats anymore. They are so wacko they've lost touch with America's value system. Certainly with mine. They don't have a single chance of winning and I hope they never do.

The greatest lunacy was indoctrination of elementary children about homosexuality and 'choosing' one's sex. How deranged did public schools become? First they drove out male teachers in elementary, schools, then proceeded to dismantle Judaic-Christian principles and values. Now, there is universal chaos. "Whom the gods wish to destroy, they first drive insane!"--ancient Greek proverb

PhoneDoc - They throw out the Bible - even try to stop students from bringing their own Bibles in their backpacks! It's their Right to bring one. And then turn around and demand that students memorize parts of the Koran!! Well, there is certainly an Agenda there. I know that there were MANY Muslims very high up in the Obama Administration. So...... obviously SOMEONE had a hand in this. It's transparent. And the argument I have as to the Bible Vs. The Koran controversy? Our Founding Fathers used the Bible, quotes and principles, when putting our Constitution together, and our Declaration of Independence. They did not use the Koran. America as a Nation, was built on Biblical Principles. Had it been built on Muslim Principles there would be many "Mercy Killings", young Ladies having parts of their reproductive organs sliced and diced (Bastards!!), complete subjugation of Females, stonings, beheadings, Gays thrown off of rooftops to their deaths - we all know the drill.

Gosig - I have heard of the teaching of the Quran in years past - in American Public Schools, where Christianity has been all but thrown out. If we're going to have "Separation of Church and State" (not in the Constitution) then it needs to cover all religions. Here are some articles from the web:

So this past week California passed a law that requires colleges to provide abortion drugs.

They also past a law that prohibits the sale of fur coats because wild animals should not be killed for this reason.

Does anybody else see the madness?

Philly - WHY is it wrong to you - for California to pass laws that prohibit fur coats and other fur products because they come from wild animals???? Is it not long overdue to protect wild animals, whenever possible before they become extinct? Many decades ago kills were necessary for food supply, BUT today there is NO valid reason to kill the animals, unless they pose a direct threat to peoples in certain areas. Way to California, keep showing the way and "maybe" others will follow.
About your abortion drugs - i did not see that story. Smile

California has so many damm laws that even a good attorney would be confused in trying to keep up. Enough already. The US is already over regulated. I come from Alaska where you see fur products everywhere. There are still a lot of wild animals here and most of the people are environmentally sensitive. The two CAN go together believe it or not. Hell we even had PETA tip here trying to stop the world famous Iditarod sled dog races. That did not work out well for them. They left with their tails between their legs.

Dark/Philly, here is a thought, there is a reason why certain groups want to ban the pledge of allegiance in schools, ban prayer, bringing bibles and talking about Christianity. I posted a while ago for those interested to get on YOU TUBE and search for "muslim demograghics". When you read and see the population trends you will have a better understanding of why the "American way of life" you are accustomed to is shrinking.
Did either of you watch DT's speech in Washington over the weekend? He denounced the persecution of Christians and JEWS.
Most people are unaware that their are countries in the world that still capture and torture christians.

I hope and pray that the years I have left I will not witness this in my own country. But there are people that vote for Rshida Talib, Omar ILhan, OAC and others that are against the US, even though they are elected government congress people.

I LOVE AMERICA. Yes, imperfect and sometimes wrong America. She has made many mistakes. There have been cruel and devious people in power at times throughout her history. She rode down my people, RobertDavs' people, and put them on "Reservations". - nice, not awful, concentration camps. Or at least not awful in the sense of a Nazi Camp. Yet she has also had many fine moments. Read the writings of her Founding Fathers. In there you will find the Wisdom of the Ages. Men of Noble Character - notice, I did not say "Perfect Character". We are all sinners and need forgiveness from on High.

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry. These are men that I honor and respect. The people of the Continental Congress wrote to King George at great peril of their lives and those that they loved. They sacrificed much, leaving their farms and families to sit in that hot, old building in the sweltering Summer of 1776. They had an IDEA - one that would possibly afford more individual freedom than had ever been experienced before. That's why thousands are storming Her gates trying to get in, not get out.

We have all benefited from this freedom. Freedom of expression and thought, and to learn. Unfortunately, many cynically look back thru the Prism of modern thought and judge these people. But our modern thought came to us on the rails of the very freedom that these people fought and died for. THAT was the point! They had no crystal ball to look into the future and see where modern sensibilities would take us - freedom for women to vote, freedom for the African-Americans. And yet they had enough foresight to imagine that they were laying the bedrock for such things to occur.

Rather than sarcastically claw and tear at the edges of our Flag and Constitution, we should honor those very things which give us the right to express our concerns, and yes, criticisms. But there is a World of difference between Constructive Criticism and Destructive Criticism. One is driven by love, and the other is driven by hate. One builds up and fixes the errors, one merely wants to tear down and destroy. When we act negatively like that we are trying to build ourselves up at others' expense. We are trying to make ourselves to be "Superior" as we judge and criticize.

I LOVE AMERICA. She raised the bar for all freedom loving nations in Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East. These countries have emulated our Constitution, and Democratic Republic. Most people in Human History from the past until now have languished under the Jack Boots of Tyrants and Despots. Yes, America has a very imperfect History - but then I look at every nation on Earth -
and almost always see far uglier, far bloodier Histories. All nations have had slaves. They have had intrigue and murder, torture and war, etc. That does not excuse us, but thankfully I see an America that has tried and persevered to correct it's imperfections. It is a Great Nation with an Amazing People - People from every Country on Earth.
