Phones and banking with the US?

For quite some time I've been researching the most efficient ways to communicate back with the United States for banking, taxes, family and friends, etc. I am unsure if I will be able to effectively receive/send codes used for identification.

I am now using a VPN based in Washington State and have What's App. I'm looking at Magic Jack, Skype, Google Voice, Facebook Messenger, and Facetime as other potential avenues of communication.

Once I arrive in Dumaguete in July 2024 I will have one phone with a local Philippine number and a second phone with my US phone number. I plan to port my US number over to Globe and use a Post Paid monthly plan for the second phone.

It would be appreciated if some of you folks could share some of your experiences. Thanks!
