Hi all.
Can anyone contrast the process of an "expat buying a new car from a dealership in the Philippines" to the US Process?
Without much research, I suspect it will be something like this:
1) Select Dealer
2) Visit Showroom (Samples only?)
3) Equivalent of Buy's Order (Lock Price/fees)
4) Order a vehicle (?)
5) Decline Financing
6) Manufacture Warranty (Mean anything in PI?)
7) Pay (wire funds?)
8) Registration (with Dealer?)
9) Drivers License Verification (International oK?)
10) Insurance (required to collect like US?)
11) Title (collected from where? Paper or electronic?)
12) Tint Windows (Any Rules on darkness?)
I welcome information on anything interesting, insightful or cautionary.
At some point, I'll want to buy a car from a Toyota Dealership in the Philippines rather than buying used. I know the process in the US. I'm sure there are notable differences, and I wanted to ask for impressions.
Thanks in advance for anything you care to share!
