Summary: People describe life in Uganda as vibrant and full of energy. Expats love the friendly people, the beautiful scenery, and the low cost of living. The average cost of living for an expat is around $1,000 per month. The population of Uganda is approximately 44 million people, and the largest cities are Kampala, Gulu, and Lira. The cons of living in Uganda include the lack of infrastructure, the high crime rate, and the prevalence of poverty. Additionally, the political situation in Uganda is often unstable, and there are frequent power outages.

What are the pros and cons of living in Uganda?

Expats, digital nomads and retirees living in Uganda responded:

"Expats and digital nomads living in Uganda often appreciate the country's friendly people, diverse culture, and stunning natural beauty. They also enjoy the low cost of living, which allows them to stretch their budget further. On the other hand, some expats and digital nomads may find the lack of reliable internet access and infrastructure to be a challenge. Additionally, the country's political and economic instability can be a source of concern," explained one expat living in Uganda.

"The town appears nice to visitors but it has a lot of hidden and underlying issues. I don't recommend moving and living here," said one in Jinja.
