What do I need to know before moving to Altos del Maria?

When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Altos del Maria, they said:

"Altos del Maria is a small mountain community located in the province of Panama. It is a popular destination for expats looking for a peaceful and tranquil lifestyle. Before moving to Altos del Maria, expats should be aware that the area is quite remote and the infrastructure is limited. English is not widely spoken, so it is important to brush up on Spanish before arriving. The climate is tropical and humid, with temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to the mid-90s. Expats should also be aware that the cost of living is relatively low, but the availability of goods and services may be limited.
