The city has a mild and temperate climate, with mild summers and mild winters, and plenty of rain throughout the year – making it perfect for outdoor activities and keeping green spaces flourishing. There is also plenty of excellent health care options, with major hospitals and research centers as well as smaller and more specialized care. Seattle has a thriving cultural life, with many museums, art galleries, music and theater venues, as well as plenty of shops, restaurants, and nightlife. With a growth in tech companies and related industries, the city has seen an influx of highly educated people, which has contributed to making the city even more diverse and open-minded. All of this means that the city is a great place to be for retirees who are looking for an active lifestyle and a warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere," explained one retiree living in Seattle.
