What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Jeddah?
We asked retirees what they find the most challenging about retiring in Jeddah. They wrote...
"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Jeddah is the lack of access to certain amenities and services that are available in other countries. For example, the availability of healthcare services may be limited, and the quality of care may not be up to the same standards as in other countries. Additionally, the cost of living in Jeddah can be quite high, making it difficult to maintain a comfortable lifestyle on a fixed income. Furthermore, the cultural and religious norms of Saudi Arabia may be difficult to adjust to, especially for those who are used to a more liberal lifestyle. Finally, the language barrier can be a challenge, as English is not widely spoken in Jeddah," remarked another expat who made the move to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
