Going to Philippines for more than 21 days

Hi everyone, I am gonna travel to Manila from the US without a visa.
I have a return ticket 40 days after arrival and I know Immigration will only give me 21 days at the airport. Will the airline allow me to board in the US or do I have to show a ticket out of the Philippines within that 21 day window? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!
