What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

It would have been a useful report if the writer indicated where he/she was coming from. I am curious to know what it means to have smaller domiciles and different appliances (compared to Tokio or to Texas). Compared to which country. so a report like this is only useful if you have another country included!
