You'll still be able to find tapas bars in this neighborhood, but this one-time fishing village is teeming with fantastic fish and seafood restaurants with a Mediterranean view. The beach, Platja de la Barceloneta, is right outside your apartment. Seriously. Within a minute from the moment you step outside your door, you could be catching the sun or catching the waves. It's not all about lazy beach life, good food, sangria and gelato (there are at least three ice cream shops nearby) around here, though. The Gothic Quarter is a mere 20-minute walk and La Rambla a 20-minute metro ride away.
