refugee status?

i have recently been confronted with a situation which makes it virtually essential for me to claim "refugee status", so that i can relocate myself and my fiancee, (and several members of her family), out of the U.S., and into another country where we can reside in safety, since we are victims of a plot by several members of my family, (and several lawyers), to murder us, to collect insurance money. i have tried to contact the U.S, state dept. in washington, D.C., they only seem to deal with foriegn nationals seeking to ENTER the u.s., not those who wish to leave. i had an ex- wife, whose parents were sponsored by an american family in newton, mass., who helped them emigrate from a german red cross refugee center following the pogroms by the communists in their native latvia, in the 1940's. how would we go about finding sponsors in other countries? we both are skilled, she in childcare, i have many useful skills, as a mechanic, tutor, etc. she is african- american, my grandparents were all european, (hungarian, italian, polish). i would lean more towards emigration to an african country, where our mixed ethnicity would not attract undue harassment and discrimination, as it has here in the U.S.
