How do I find a place to live in Puerto Viejo?
We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:
"Finding a place to live in Puerto Viejo involves several steps. First, you need to determine your budget and what type of accommodation you're looking for. This could range from a small apartment to a larger house or villa. Next, you should research the different neighborhoods in Puerto Viejo to find one that suits your lifestyle and preferences. Some areas might be closer to the beach, while others might be closer to the town center with shops and restaurants. Once you have an idea of what you're looking for, you can start your search. There are several online platforms where you can find listings for rentals in Puerto Viejo, such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and local real estate websites. You can also contact local real estate agents who can help you find a place to live. They will have a good knowledge of the local market and can help you navigate the process. Another option is to visit Puerto Viejo and look for rentals in person. This can be a good way to get a feel for the different neighborhoods and see potential homes in person. When you find a place you're interested in, make sure to ask about the terms of the lease, what's included in the rent, and any other questions you might have. Finally, before signing a lease, it's a good idea to have it reviewed by a local lawyer to ensure that everything is in order. Remember, finding a place to live can take time, so it's important to be patient and not rush the process," said one expat who made the move to Puerto Viejo.
