What are healthcare services like in Sarteneja?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees if they have access to good medical care in Sarteneja. They wrote...

"Healthcare services in Sarteneja are quite basic due to its rural location. The village has a small health clinic that provides primary care services to the residents. The clinic is staffed by nurses and occasionally visited by a doctor. For more serious health issues, residents often have to travel to larger towns or cities, such as Corozal or Belize City, where there are larger hospitals and more specialized medical services. The government of Belize provides free healthcare to its citizens, but the quality and availability of services can vary greatly, especially in rural areas like Sarteneja. Despite these challenges, efforts are being made to improve healthcare in Sarteneja and similar communities, with initiatives aimed at improving access to clean water, sanitation, and preventative care," remarked another expat who made the move to Sarteneja, Belize.
