It is also important to note that many countries require long-term visas and residency permits, so prospective retirees should make sure they understand all the legal requirements. Furthermore, retirees should plan to stay connected to family and friends back home via regular trips and modern communication technologies such as Skype and email. Finally, connecting with other retirees living in the area of interest can be a great source of information and support," said another expat in Hopkins Village, Belize.
"We both love living in Belize, and our dog is very much at home. He loves swimming in the sea, as do we! Getting used to the humidity was probably the most difficult for us, but we are adapting.
