"As a foreigner living in Dumaguete City, you will have access to public healthcare. However, it's important to note that the quality of public healthcare in the Philippines can vary. In general, public hospitals in the Philippines are often crowded and may not have the same level of equipment and facilities as private hospitals. The healthcare system in the Philippines is a mix of public and private providers. The public healthcare system is funded by the government and is available to all citizens and foreigners residing in the country. However, many locals and expats choose to use private healthcare due to the higher standard of care and facilities. It's also worth noting that while public healthcare is cheaper, there can be long waiting times for treatment. Therefore, it's recommended for foreigners to have comprehensive health insurance that covers medical treatment in private hospitals," wrote a member who made the move to Dumaguete City, Philippines.
