"In comparison, the housing is less expensive than in the US New construction is around $40.00 a sq. ft. Upscale, 3 bedrooms with a view and pool are renting for $500-700.00 per month. Smaller local houses rent for $200-300.00," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.
"The cost of housing in Nicaragua varies greatly depending on the size and location, but generally speaking, the average price of a one-bedroom apartment in the city is around $200 to $400 per month. Renting a room in a shared flat is even cheaper and most rural accommodations can be found for less than $100 per month," commented one expat who made the move to Nicaragua.
