Hi Lorelai,

How have you been doing with your decision making? Contrary to what dolfie has said, as a single female here, you would need to be careful where you go and where you live. If you're smart about these issues, then you can definitely be safer.

Starting a new life here is not easy, as dolfie has said. A work permit is difficult to get, and you cannot be living here when you apply for your permit. Work permits will only be granted for jobs that no Bahamian is qualified for or willing to take. Living costs here can be expensive, so you will want to make sure that you have job while you live here.

Good luck!

Dear Lorelei,
That is a big decision. You better start with a permit in your pocket. As long as you live your life a girl should be pretty safe in the Bahamas. It is very difficult to obtain a work permit nowadays, even if you know people. Unemployment points to work for Bahamians first.
