In P.C. check out Via Uruguay, I'm sure there is a Salsa club can't think of a name?

Once again, if you have the chance on a Friday night, check out the salsa lessons and dancing at Pariaso in Los Uvas (above San Carlos) We had a great night there with the beach expats. Very nice folks.

The place for Spanish dancing is Panama City. Boquete is not a place to go out Spanish dancing. Once in awhile the Posada will bring in a Latino band but the acoustics are so bad, you mostly just get a headache, and then there is Coca Colas for the local crowd of Panamanians, but it's not pretty. It's rough and tumble and most expats would not go there. Most of the bands play American dancing hits at the bars and places like Fusion where you can dance on a Friday or Saturday night.

yes, but not real popular. Don't know about Boquete, but I would think the same... More salsa and merengue then anything. Some bolero and rumba too. Don't hear much tango. A little cha cha.

Also while on the subject, anyone know if Bachata is popular in Panama, especially in Boquete?

In Las Uvas, 3 km from the Panamerican Hwy, on the road to El VAlle is the Paraiso Restaurant. On Friday nights, they have salsa lessons and dancing. It's an all expat crowd-very friendly, well run place. Great. great time.
My favorite hotel in EV is the Golden Frog. It's absolutely beautiful and run by helpful expats. Not cheap but unforgettable.
You can't swing a cat over your head without hitting a friendly expat in EV. On Mondays, try Brushettas, Mon Petite, or Ty's. Shoot me an email-I can probably meet with you.
I have found El Valle to be one of the friendliest places on earth.

Thank you all for replying. We are so looking forward to see most of Panama. We will be in El Valle on Monday March 9th and thinking of staying at Hotel Residential. Is this a good spot and or any other suggestions? We would also like to meet local expats, so you have a meeting place?

"Más de 30" is one of the night clubs in the Causeway ( Calzada de Amador) in Panama City where you can dance salsa/other older music.
Another place in San Frqncisco, Panama City is Los Años Locos.
Dress attire can be slacks/jeans, buttoned or Golf shirts, no shorts, t-shirts unless you have nothing else to wear.and could stand out as mostly the teenagers/younger crowd wear them.

In Panama City, the Argentinian embassy does have several groups that get together and offer tango/milonga lessons at a restaurant/hotel.
