Here are the quick facts about working in Mexico as a digital nomad:

Program: No Specific Program - Tourist & Temporary Visas Available
Length of Stay: Tourist Visa Allows 180 Days - Temporary Residency Visa offers much more with acceptance and renewal Tourist Visa Allows 180 Days - Temporary Residency Visa offers much more with acceptance and renewal
Fees: $25 for tourists. $48+ for temporary residency visas
Online Application Available: No
Requirements & Documents: Tourist visas processed on arrival.
Covid-19 Requirements: No test or quarantine for entry.
Application Timing: Varies depending on type. Tourist visas will be filled out on a flight or at port of entry if arriving by land.

One of the buzz words you'll hear thrown around when discussing Mexico's tourist visa is generous, as it offers 180 days a year. That's probably enough for a lot of nomads, but if not you can apply for temporary residency visa. Importantly - temporary residency visas cannot be applied for in Mexico. It must be done at a consulate or embassy outside of Mexico, and within your country of citizenship is preferred.
