About the Property

Rustic cabin in off-grid secure community near Spanish Lookout, Cayo, Belize. Constructed of local hardwood. One-half acre lot, two-thirds cleared. One bedroom, one bath, kitchen, living room, porch.

Rustic cabin in off-grid community. Built eight feet off the ground for improved air flow. Finished hardwood floors, hardwood walls, kitchen fixtures include double commercial sink, bathroom fixtures include vanity with sink, toilet and stall shower. Outdoor shower available underneath the house to cool off from working in the yard/garden. 800L rainwater catchment.

Land title is held in long-term (99 yr) transferrable lease. Front two-thirds of lot is cleared. Back one-third is jungle. A stream flows nearby. Community is gated and secure.

There is a HOA fee of $35 per month and water service costs $5 per month for minimum usage of 900 gals. Each additional 100 gals of water usage (or fraction thereof) costs $.50. All prices in USD.

This house is a perfect place for short getaways or a Plan B location. If you plan to live there long term, you would need to work with a reliable local solar electric company to install a system to provide power to the already-wired house. I can provide a referral. House comes with some minimal LED lighting powered by a single 12-volt deep-cycle battery which is kept charged by a small solar panel. For more extensive lighting or appliances, you would need a more robust solar electric system. The original propane tank has been removed so you would have to obtain a tank from the local gas supplier. Once you have gas, there is an on-demand water heater for showers and washing dishes.

Belize currency is tied to the USD. $2 BZ = $1 USD
