You will also want to learn about the local laws and regulations to make sure you are following all the rules. Finding a place to live should be done in advance as the housing market is limited. Reliable transportation is important and often public transportation is not an option. Lastly, it is good to familiarize yourself with the local customs and culture as you transition into your new home," explained one expat living in Mal Pais, Costa Rica.
