When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Guatemala City, they said:

"Before moving to Guatemala City, expats should be aware of the language barrier, as Spanish is the primary language spoken in the city. It is also important to research the cost of living in Guatemala City, as it is generally lower than in other countries. Additionally, expats should be aware of the crime rate in the city, as it is higher than in many other cities. It is also important to research the local culture and customs, as they may be different from what expats are used to.
