The climate is tropical, with a dry season from November to May and a wet season from June to October. Public transportation is readily available, including tricycles, jeepneys, and vans. However, traffic can be heavy, especially during peak hours. The city is known for its natural beauty, including the famous Underground River, so there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. However, it's also important to be aware of potential natural hazards, such as typhoons and earthquakes. The food in Puerto Princesa is a mix of Filipino and international cuisines, with seafood being a specialty.
