Rent for a one-bedroom apartment in the city center can be quite affordable, while those looking for more space or a location outside of the city center can expect to pay less. Groceries in Santander are also reasonably priced, with local markets and supermarkets offering a variety of fresh produce and local products. Eating out in Santander can range from inexpensive to high-end, depending on the restaurant. Public transportation in Santander is efficient and affordable, with options including buses and trains. Alternatively, owning and maintaining a car can be more expensive due to costs such as fuel, insurance, and parking. Healthcare in Santander is of a high standard and is generally affordable, particularly for those who are covered by the Spanish public healthcare system. Private health insurance is also available for those who prefer it. Leisure activities in Santander, such as cinema tickets, gym memberships, and sports events, are priced similarly to other Spanish cities.
