The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant in Tamarindo is usually around $15 to $20 per person.

"The cost of living in Tamarindo is generally considered to be quite reasonable. Groceries, restaurants, and other basic necessities are generally affordable, and the cost of housing is also relatively low. Utilities, such as electricity and water, are also relatively inexpensive. Transportation costs can vary depending on the mode of transport, but overall, Tamarindo is a relatively affordable place to live," said one person in Tamarindo.

The cost of living in Tamarindo is much lower than in the US, with basic necessities such as food, housing, and transportation costing significantly less. Additionally, the cost of entertainment and leisure activities is also much lower in Tamarindo than in the US. As a result, many people who move to Tamarindo find that they are able to save a significant amount of money compared to living in the US," wrote a person living in Tamarindo.

What is the average cost of housing in Tamarindo?

If you are thinking about moving to Tamarindo, cost of living in probably a key consideration. Expats commented about the cost of housing:

"The cost of housing in Tamarindo can vary greatly depending on the type of accommodation and location. Generally, the average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in the city center is around $800 per month, while a two-bedroom apartment can cost up to $1,200 per month. Prices for larger homes and villas can range from $1,500 to $3,000 per month," explained one expat.

"It depends on how close you want to be to the water. Are you willing to live in the surrounding area like Huacus or Villareal? It can be anywhere from $600 to thousands," said one person in Tamarindo.

What appliances are typically included in a rental?

We asked foreigners in Tamarindo what appliances are typically included in a rental, and, if there is anything else included or not included that a newcomer would not expect. Replies included:

"Rental properties in Tamarindo typically include a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and washing machine. Some properties may also include a dishwasher, air conditioning, and/or a clothes dryer. Additionally, many properties come with basic kitchenware, such as pots, pans, dishes, and utensils," commented one expat who moved to Tamarindo.
