Summary: The cost of living in Mal Pais, Costa Rica is relatively low compared to other countries. A nice 1 bedroom apartment can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000 per month, while a nice 2 bedroom apartment can cost anywhere from $800 to $1,500 per month. The cost of dinner at a moderately priced restaurant is usually around $15 to $20 per person.

Groceries, restaurants, and other basic necessities are relatively inexpensive, and the cost of housing is also quite reasonable. The cost of utilities, such as electricity and water, is also quite low. Overall, Mal Pais is a great place to live for those looking for an affordable lifestyle in a beautiful tropical setting," said one expat in Mal Pais.

"The cost of living in Mal Pais is generally considered to be high. It can be particularly expensive for groceries, alcoholic beverages, and clothing," wrote a person living in Mal Pais.
