What are emergency services like in San Ignacio?
When we asked members about emergency services in San Ignacio, they wrote...
"Emergency services in San Ignacio are relatively limited compared to more developed countries. The local hospital, San Ignacio Community Hospital, provides basic medical care and emergency services. In case of an emergency, you can call for an ambulance by dialing the local emergency number, which is 911. However, response times may be slower than in more developed areas, and the availability of advanced medical equipment and resources may be limited. For serious medical emergencies, it is often recommended to seek treatment in Belize City or even outside the country," commented one expat who made the move to San Ignacio, Belize.

"La Loma Luz - Santa Elena. I am not aware of the emergency services. Quality of care is adequate, but my last experience was 12 years ago! Private hospital," remarked another expat in San Ignacio, Belize.
