What have your experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system been like?
When we asked expats and global nomads in Exeter about their experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system, they replied...
"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the local healthcare system in Exeter. The NHS has had to adapt quickly to the changing situation, and has done an admirable job in providing care to those who need it. GP surgeries have been offering telephone and video consultations, and have been able to provide prescriptions and referrals to other services. Hospitals have had to reduce the number of visitors allowed, and have implemented strict safety measures to protect both staff and patients. The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital has also been providing virtual outpatient appointments, and has been able to provide a range of services remotely. The local community has also been supported by the NHS, with the provision of mental health services, and the provision of testing for those who need it," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Exeter, England.
