What have your experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system been like?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads in Ottawa about their experiences during the pandemic with the local healthcare system, they replied...

"The pandemic has had a significant impact on the local healthcare system in Ottawa. The Ottawa Hospital has had to make changes to their services in order to accommodate the influx of patients with COVID-19. This has included the implementation of virtual care, the expansion of their intensive care unit, and the hiring of additional staff. The hospital has also had to limit the number of visitors allowed in the hospital, and has implemented strict safety protocols for those who are allowed to enter. Additionally, the Ottawa Public Health has been providing regular updates on the pandemic, and has been offering testing and contact tracing services. The City of Ottawa has also been providing support to local healthcare providers, including providing additional funding and resources," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Ottawa, Canada.
