Is the cost of living in Santa Ana high?
We asked people how much they someone comfortably live on in Santa Ana, they wrote:
"The cost of living in Santa Ana is considered to be moderate compared to other parts of the world. Housing tends to be the most significant expense, with rental prices varying depending on the size and location of the property. Utilities such as electricity, water, and internet are relatively affordable. Groceries are also reasonably priced, with local markets offering fresh produce at lower costs than supermarkets. Eating out can be inexpensive if you choose local "sodas" (small restaurants), but international cuisine and fine dining can be more costly. Public transportation in Santa Ana is quite affordable, but owning and maintaining a car can be expensive due to high import taxes on vehicles. Healthcare is generally low-cost, especially if you qualify for the public healthcare system. However, private healthcare and insurance can be more expensive. Education costs can vary widely, with public schools being free of charge, while private and international schools can be quite costly. Entertainment and leisure activities, such as gym memberships, movie tickets, and outings, are also additional costs to consider. Overall, while the cost of living in Santa Ana is lower than in many North American or European cities, it is one of the more expensive places to live in Costa Rica. However, with careful budgeting, it is possible to live comfortably in this beautiful part of the world," remarked one expat in Santa Ana.
