How do I find a place to live in Salinas?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"There are a variety of housing options in Salinas, from apartment complexes, to single family homes, to houses for rent. You can search for rentals online on sites such as Zillow and Trulia or you can use a realtor in the area to find a place to live. Additionally, the Salinas Housing Authority may be able to assist you in finding low-income housing options in the area," explained one expat living in Salinas, Ecuador.

"We came to Ecuador 4 times and fell in love with Salinas. We had a realtor help us find our new condo," said another person in Salinas.

"Expat homes and apartments in Salinas are typically modern and luxurious, with features such as marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, and designer furnishings. This coastal city boasts many oceanfront properties, so many expats have access to breathtaking views of the Pacific. Depending on the neighborhood, some apartments may also have amenities such as swimming pools, fitness centers, and spas. With its tropical climate, access to activities such as surfing, fishing, and exploring the nearby towns and national parks, Salinas has become an attractive destination for expats," added another expat who made the move to Salinas.

"The cost of housing in Salinas generally ranges from relatively affordable to quite expensive, depending on the location, amenities, and size of the home," explained one expat living in Salinas, Ecuador.

"They are much lower. The average cost is hard to say because the range is so broad depending on what you want. I will say the property taxes are 1% of the purchase price per year," said another person in Salinas.

Buying usually requires a larger upfront cost, but it may prove to be the better financial decision in the long run.
