Will I save money living in Mazatlan?

Answer this Question

We asked expats if they save money living in Mazatlan. They said...

"While things were not as cheap as I'd heard, we are able to live a nice life on our income. We DID pick a popular city on the coast, so prices are higher here than in smaller towns," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Mazatlan, Mexico.

"Yes, living in Mazatlan can be considerably cheaper than living in the United States. The cost of living in Mexico is lower than the cost of living in the US due to its more affordable housing, food, and utilities. Additionally, the currency exchange rate of the Mexican peso to the US dollar is usually in favor of Americans, making most items cheaper. It is not uncommon for people to live comfortably in Mazatlan on a smaller budget," commented one expat who made the move to Mazatlan, Mexico.
