What should I pack when moving to Isle of Arran?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Isle of Arran to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to the Isle of Arran, you should pack warm clothing, including sweaters, jackets, scarves, gloves, and hats, as the weather can be quite cold and windy. Waterproof clothing and footwear are also essential due to the frequent rain. Don't forget to pack your essential documents such as passport, driver's license, and any necessary work or immigration papers. Pack your personal items like toiletries, medications, and any specific brands you might not find there. If you have a favorite hobby, bring along your hobby-related items, whether it's knitting, painting, or hiking gear. You should also pack a good quality camera or smartphone for capturing the stunning landscapes of the Isle of Arran. If you're a fan of outdoor activities, consider packing your hiking boots, binoculars for bird watching, and a swimsuit for those brave enough to try wild swimming. Remember to pack your electronics, including your laptop, smartphone, chargers, and an adapter plug for UK sockets. If you're moving permanently, you might want to bring some home comforts like favorite books, photos, or small keepsakes to make your new place feel like home. Lastly, pack a good map or guidebook of the Isle of Arran to help you explore your new home," wrote a member who made the move to Isle of Arran, Scotland.
