Moving to Italy – Italian wife/Canadian husband

Hello All

I am newbie to this site and plan to move to Italy in 2020. My wife is an Italian citizen and I am Canadian.

We are looking into private health insurance and the monthly cost is quite high. It's my understanding that we would need proof of coverage before entering Italy and can apply for SNN after living there for 3 months.

I'm wondering if that would be different for my wife – given that she is an Italian citizen. Or for me – given that I am married to an Italian citizen.

Plus what are other people paying for private health insurance? I got an online quote for €396. Is anybody paying less than that?

Many thanks in advance!

Ciao!
